A large, angry group of adventurers came into the barracks and demanded that his fine for 15,000 gold for hooliganism and disobedience to a crown official be removed.
I talked them down to a 1,000 fine, and left the matter be. The fine was paid.
In the future, do not issue the maximum fine unless you're about to handle the consequences of your own greed.
