[A sealed letter for Count Immerdusk]
-
Esteemed Count Immerdusk,
Please pardon my insolence for bypassing Sir Everduke and taking your attention away from your daily activities, but this matter is most pressing and is worthy of a small amount of your attention, at the very least.
I beg of you, my lord, in your infinite wisdom, to grant this poor, low born man of average quality and stock, a warrant to retrieve vital evidence that Lady Sabriel Florent has.
We all know she has it, yet she insists on keeping it to herself so that she may pen a story for fortune and fame. I would argue that those secrets contained within the pages of the journal might very well prove an extreme liability if, gods forbid, she would be captured and it fell into the hands of any enemy of the Kingdom.
With that, I would lay out a few possible conditions for Lady Florent:
-
One, that she willingly hands over and allows a copy of all evidence pertaining to Izereth the Witch in her possession to be transcribed for our own peruse without a writ of seizure; or
-
Two, in the case that she does not wish to submit the evidence and keep it for her own personal gain, forfeit her position as a Crown Guard and resign.
I believe it is in her duty to lead us common born men and women by example, so that we may be inspired to achieve greatness, much like you have and will continue to do so in the future.
Your humble servant,
Dilettante Wilhem Alun Drakensorrow -
