Volmar is a cultist that serves some demon of the Abyss.

A capable caster who is also competent with his spear in melee

I understand he has been slain several times including once falling to my Helmsblade and Guardian Style.

On death though he turns into ooze and retreats, somehow reforming after a time.

I will hunt him before the next weekend and attempt to turn him to stone.

To do this I will hunt creatures that can turn people to stone such as Gorgons and creatures connected to the earth like Earth Drakes and seek an alchemist to brew a concotion.

I had considered attempting to capture a live gorgon but alas the Precepts menagrie would mean taking the beast too near to gates and putting people at risk

Myself, Valarious and Adelaide obtained blood and scales from a Gorgon in the Kings Abyss cave system.

Siona has been asked to hunt an earth drake and will be compensated if she brings me a scale.

Earth Elemental essence should also be obtained

A cup strongly tied to the element of earth was recovered from cleansing an ancestral crypt in the Hullack.

This should make a fine reagent for the efforts to turn Volmar to stone in his ooze form,

His stoned form could be given to the Wildwalkers to deal with or House Mossmere, as the Precept cannot be trusted due to Treth

On a hunt with Adelaide an earth drake was located and killed and it's scale obtained.

I believe with this and the gorgon blood and scales and the earth cup a skilled mage or alchemist should be able to turn Volmar into stone

Though it may not mean much to you, I am sending you my notes on the ritual, in case questions or complications might arise and I am unavailable to answer.

List of components:
Blood of a gorgon
Scales of a gorgon
Cup connected to elemental earth
Vial of stoneskin or object capable of the same
Dust of an Enchanted Diamond
A greater elemental essence of fire
Dust of an enchanted Fire opal

The theory behind the potion is based on elemental connections and the fluidity of Volmar's form, much alike an ooze that can take solid shape.
Ooze is in majority strongly connected to both the plane of water and that of earth, so the goal of the above is to strengthen his connection to elemental earth and sever the link to elemental water.
As such, the cup and its connection will play a vital part and be the container in which the remaining components will amalgamate. If it was but as simple as tossing it all in, that would be grand, but little will come of that, so the following will be done, to produce a proper fusing of elemental magic:

First we pour the contents of the stoneskin vial into the cup. If no vial is available, I will pestle whatever object into a cauldron along with water and stir under a blazing heat. Worry not for my hands, I have magic to stir it.
As we now have the base of the concoction done, we will begin the titration of the blood under a slow boil to separate the water from the liquid. The water will be poured away and the remaining, for lack of better words, "goop", will be mixed into the concoction.
Whilst this is going on, the scales will undergo a slow burning to, as you may have guessed, (or maybe you hadn't), remove traces of water. The remaining ashy granulate will be mixed into a light acid and added to the mixture.
By now, our concoction should be potent enough to absorb the heavily earth-aligned diamond dust to finalize its pull towards elemental earth.
Finally, whilst channeling a spell of Lesser Planar Binding through a greater essence of fire semi-submerged, we add the dust of the fire opal, properly binding the element of fire into it.

Instructions of use in simple terms are as follows: Toss it onto him, once he begins his transformation into ooze-form or if he is already turned. The former is probably more effect though.
In effect, the potion will be consumed by his form and it will strengthen his link to the elemental earth, whilst the elemental fire will, as fire and water are wont to, begin to cancel each other out, being opposite elements as they are. Assume it is temporary. Ooze is notoriously capable at adapting.

I trust he would do something that would work as the vile cultist did attack his Lords domain and being part of ending him would even if he will be unable to be present for the attack would earn him some favour from the Duke at the least

Donie has mixed the base mixture.

It needs a spell of bestow curse casting into it now, preferably by a skilled transmuter.

Fyevarra was able to finish the cursing of the mixture and it is ready to use against Volmar.

I will prepare the group against petrification before using it as it seems a little unstable

Volmar is dead by my hand once more due to my skill with a Helmsblade and Guardian Style

After a gruelling battle to reach him in which Treth ambushed us likely after Ursula we faced him down.

Despite best efforts all of us besides myself were felled.

I refused to surrender and overcame him and used the mixture to petrify him and destroyed him once and for all
