Under the Light, here is my Truth
I have watched and spoken to Atonement seeker for several dawns.
In the beginning her truth is that she fell from grace for attacking the person who murdered Dawnknight Muric from a cloak of invisibility rather than engaging in honourable combat. Asking her to look inwards and answer what she would do differently her response was to attack directly. Once again I asked her if that was all and she answered that she would announce in a battle cry her presence and praise Lathander.
She failed to see the Light and was directed to pray on the matter with an open heart and clear mind.
Allowing the Atonement seeker time to witness the dawn and review her truth I once again asked her, why she had lost the grace of the Morning Lord and why she desired atonement. She once again turned inward.
- Forgiveness for her failure
- To recover what was lost
- To fix what was broken
- To not be tarnished and shattered
- To free herself from darkness
All selfish wants when she should be embracing what she has been given not what she has lost. She had yet to tell me WHY she should be forgiven or if she was worthy of forgiveness. Still she has failed.
As the dawn's first glimmer was seen on the horizon I spoke my truth to her. That she has put her selfish wants ahead of him. That it was fragile emotion of self interest and putting herself ahead of the Way that has lead her to here. It was her blind love for an evil man, and refusal to be hurt. It was her rage at the murder of Dawnknight Muric that she lost sight of her Oath. It was her choice to abandon the Aster and seek priesthood.
Together we prayed as the dawn began to rise and the light soon shone in her. Put aside her pride and selfish wants. Accept what you have been given not what you have lost. Be what you are and put his needs ahead of yours. Cease trying to reclaim what was lost and renew yourself.
The final test came with a hammer she has long been carrying. A blood soak weapon. She has tried to remove the taint from it and failed. She has carried it like all her burdens alone. As we looked at the hammer together I waited, hoping that I had not failed this child of the Light. My faith in the Morning and in my sister was true. She reached out and accepted that she cannot be His light alone, that a single candle is easily blown out.
She has cast aside the hammer as the past and prepares to face the next dawn renewed. As a symbol of her renewed commitment to Lathander she will now wield a scared weapon, the Mace.
She is not suitable for the Aster nor the Oath and must be fully removed from the Order. Her path is elsewhere.
It is my Truth and recommendation that she be accepted into the Holy order of the Morning Lord and be name Dawnlord Jadzia Sunguard, servant of the Morning.
This is the Way. This is the Light
