Baldur's Gate Enhanced edition
-
Its true. Its real. Its DONE! It has easy online multiplayer support. And its only 20 USD.
Did I mention it includes the Blackguard class and a new sexy half-elf wildmage companion (among others)? Well, it does!
(Available on both Windows and iPad)
Edit: Disclaimer; the game might not be as fabulous as first imagined, and appears to be about as stable as NWN2 in the beginning, although I haven't tested it personally yet. The original is still badass, and with TuTu its even better.

Warning: major rip off detected.
I was totally appalled at the effort and the money they ask for. For $20 I'd expect something like BG with NWN graphics and running flawlessly at the very least.
All bug fixes here are old patches made by modding community. I don't understand what Beamdog actually did there except for generating more bugs and adding three boring companions and half an hour of new content.
You'll be MUCH better off just buying the original perfectly fine and amazing game and downloading the community mods. Also, if you have a laptop with integrated video (like myself) it won't even run. No refunds.

Half the price, guaranteed to run, infinitely downloadable, no crap, no gimmicks.
Support the original product, not the money-grabbing remake.

Well, it does appear they pulled a NWN2 and released a heavily bugged product that may or may not be sufficiently patched in the future, from what I can gather from the forums. I still think it has potential.
-
I personally only wanted it for the iPad version, however, I can't even download it on my iPad 1… I'd have to buy a whole new iPad just to run the damn thing and /that/ is not happening. I might buy the enhanced addition for mac when it comes out since I won't have a new windows PC for a few months.

Not to sound overly cynical on the subject, but new ideas have potential – they're re-releasing a widely celebrated and loved title with little tweaks and adjustments to make it "better:"
They're Lucas, and this is Star Wars.

I got it for my iPad and im not sure how much i'll play it tbh.. Not sure if the controls translate well to a touchscreen but i'll give it a shot during the christmas holidays as i'll be in the middle of nowhere with no internet anyway.
-
Not a fan. The original is better, and you can get all the enhancements and more with the BGTutu mod.
Seriously, there is no point to this.
-
I've never played Baldur's Gate, and this has gotten me tempted.
Best idea is to just get the original then?

Baldur's gate made many of us join this very server, I dare to say. It was my only connection with FR and roleplaying before coming here. It's fun!
(though speaking with a DM is probably better. ) -
Original + TuTu mod. Its the best mod evar made. And other potential mods. There are.. well, lots.
-
care to suggest me some? Telling what they do, if you would.

Basically, the tutu mod allows you to play the original baldurs gate in the baldurs gate 2 engine. So this opens up so many possibilities, from content adjustments to fully voiced NPCs to banter packs to well, anything. There's just too many to list, I highly suggest going to Pocket Plane and taking a look at their lists there. Keep in mind that the majority of BG1 mods are tutu mods, therefore they run on the BG2 engine. The tutu mod is essentially your gateway into customising a BG trilogy experience that is both cohesive and rich in content.
Here is a massive list of what's available http://modlist.pocketplane.net/index.php?ax=list&cat_id=97, unfortunately the Gibberlings Three site is down at the moment, they had the expanded NPC dialogue and banter packs as well as core content changes and tweaks to the engine. Hopefully they come back up soon. Pocket plane is more BG2 orientated, but they have the TutuMod, Tutu enhancements, and Unfinished business. Which are I consider core on any BG1-BG:TotSC-BG2-BGToB play through.

And for those not familiar with either, the mechanics in BG2 took everything good about the first game, added some new stuff and made it better. Since you can import your BG1 character to BG2 (just like DragonAge Origins -> Awakening), having all the class/race opportunities from lv 1 is a real treat and doesn't make you feel like you missed out.
There are mods upgrading or updating the NPCs dialogue options and banter. Mods that add more romancing options (giving you more characters to choose from). Mods that add wholly new NPCs (as far as I've come to understand). Mods that add more kits (Class specializations. Is your Rogue a duelist, assassin, bounty hunter?). Mods that add new areas and quests. There is really only the imagination of players that limit the options, and the community is quite imaginative.

Same, I've never played it. Sounds like I am missing out on quite a bit.
