Lowbie Quests outside Arabel
-
Hi!
Only now I have been noticing that actually THERE are lowbie quests on wilderness areas. They're a bit far away from each others and are not always receiving advertising.
The location of the Quests givers is to be FOIG or can we share them here? If we can, I got two that would be interesting to point out.

I'd rather just know which ones you're talking about and put some ads up in game to help people find them.

I know one. A quest about a kid stolen by kelpie for levels 1-4. Questgiver is placed in a burrow in the Springs, so there's not much possibility for a newbie to come across it unless a player knows it already.

Also, add a visual hint at where the actual transition is. You have to put your cursor above it to find it, and I had some trouble finding it the first time (ran past it)

A cave in calantar's way… and that kid stolen by kelpies...
But please... wherever you place the adds, don't place them in Arabel... the idea is to make it easier for people that don't want or don't have reasons to enter the city to get ways of growing.

Wretched Wandering quest in Haunted Halls lvl 1-5
A sign in Eveningstar perhaps?
Signs in Arabel would help. Not all people wander outside the city at level 1 to find stuff.

Sign in Southern Outskirts… and some in front of the gates maybe. Things are too much centralized in Arabel.

That actually isn't the point.
We put in low level quests to be done by low level players, that's the point.

And new characters always start in Arabel, so if the advertising is for new players to find them, it would have to be in Arabel, or obvious.
Perhaps a sign on/near the tower near the East Gate would be appropriate? -

The problem I found with the ones outside of arabel, is that people don't know where they are. I know when I began arabel, I always thought -all- the low quests are in arabel. To this day I -still- only know of 1 or 2 lowbie quests outside. It would have helped a few of my more nature concepts…specially some I had thought about that wanted to be more outside focused.
-
Only way I see of fixing this is making a new area that will be a hotspot for Newbies/low lvls. Like a small village that has a few low lvl quests. Along with surrounding lands with low spawns as well.
You know make it so you can pick rather to live in Arabel or live in ?????

It is CITY OF ARABEL guys, most stuff will be in the city.
-
Well yes…but that doesn't help the team bad/wild concepts...you get exiled and killed your pretty much screwed.
-
Eveningstar undead does get a mention by the guy you deliver the five star package too, you even have to go into one of the dialogue options after you deliver it so unless you break convo you should be able to find out about it.
Kelpie quest could certainly use some advertisement, I'm always surprised to find out when a long time player didnt even know it was there. Samething with the cave just south of arabel, and perhaps even a nod toward the immersea quests that are in the six or seven max range could help too.
-
I joined 2007 and only in the last few days have i first done kelpie quest and then only after i was told in the forums where it was.
It then took another player ig to show me where the transition for the quest start was.
So glad i found it, its a great quest to do

The quest-givers themselves don't have to be in Arabel. The HINTS for the quests have to be in Arabel.
That takes care of people being exiled/etc not being able to do stuff. Assumably they would have found these quests way back before they were exiled. Or at least have had a higher chance of it.

you made me think of this
now… all serious... hehehe...
most... not everything. and Arabel doesn't mean only the city... it got the outskirts that could use some love too...and maybe the nearby spots that are around the quests could get the suggested adds... like the king's cauldron that is near the kelpie quest.
I mean: I am happy to know that you might not depend only on the city stuff to grow as a character. It's nice to know that you got other options. Maybe there are other lowbie quests around that we don't know off?

I think I did the Kelpi quest when it was first made up in Flynn below the hot springs. it is fun..Easy to do with a fronter. and you have to do this all in one breath….............Gives me an Idea for an Alchemy recipie. He he
