What happaning with the crafting feats like scibe scroll, brew potion and craft wand?
No changes, really, as far as I am aware, for now.
-
Will the UMD system be reworked in this version?
-
No plans for it to change.
-
Will the animal companion system remain (improved?). For example, being able to tame any animal/beast?

on the list.

Will most areas have a purpose and things to see and do? I'd rather not see empty boring "filler" areas without spawns.

we want every area to have a quest or two, but some regions are there to represent distance between settlements.

The aim is for every single area to have at least one quest, but we focus on the settlements as Spiffy says and continue outwards.

Will the monster AI be going through any noticable changes?
-
Same AI.

Yes, we know, you can whine about knockdown not working properly some more.

1)Can we use the D&D cannon as a base for concepts? Only been playing a couple of months. i.e. DR 1356 - Over 1000 Statues That Walk move once again in the Old Empire of Mulhorand. They begin wandering to the nearby lands of Unther and Thay. 2)Does the geography have to make sense? 3) And can a backstory cause certain players to react to each other in a predetermined way even if they have not met as of yet IC? i.e. Dwarf hailing from Waterdeep who prefers the company of Elves because they saved him from drowning etc.

Yes though keep in mind that the setting is in and around the area of Northern Cormyr(Arabel etc), Sembia, Dalelands and so on. The further away a region is the less relevant it likely will be to server events etc. The events considered canon FR leading up to and during the Time of Troubles most likely occured. Keep in mind that a PC would not have full knowledge of events nor details. Think more like rumors and tales.
2)Does the geography have to make sense?
Not sure what you are asking so let me know.

It is possible to deviate from the cultural norms. Players are encouraged to rp their characters and be fun to interact with. If the team feels a character has strayed too far from proper in our setting we'll address that on an individual basis. Keep in mind, using you example above, that just because a dwarf prefers the company of Elves for some reason, there is no guarantee that the Elves will be anymore accepting.

You answered questions 1 and 2 with one response. thanks

- Some on the kenku - can they wear armour or are their models just preset like goblin? Any Arabel specific information about the Kenku gods or should we just use the forgotten realms lore? Also, will they have mimicry abilities? There is no perks listed for the faction. Do they get a base and special merchant?
- Is the DM team going to be very active (like the period with storytellers) or hands-off? Does each faction have a specific DM attached to it?
-
The kenku model is pre-fixed. They can wear different armour, but it wont be visible.
The Kenku gods are Quorlinn or the Raven Queen, both are canon
Kenkus speak like any other race, they do not have any mimic ability
Kenkus get free rest and sendings, little else
The DM team plan to be very active but our aim is to make it so players dont WANT to depend on DMs to have fun
There is no set DM for each faction but every DM has their favourite

How much would a former cleric of Myrkul know about Cyric? Specifically regarding extent of his domains, the gods he replaced, and general outlook. I'd assume that they will be aware of the former Banites in Zhentil Keep being forced to convert?
Are the reagent based undead summoning scripts still accessible?

- It is one year post Avatar crises and since the gods have all withdrawn there is even mre uncertainty and knowledge about what Cyric is all about. We'll have the OOC stuff for Cryic posted soon.
- I'd not assume that there is any forced convertion to Cyric in this reboot. Bane is dead.....or is he? Without any way for clericis to directly commune with the gods, there is no way for them to verify anything so it is wide open to interpretation. It is possible that there is a blood bath in some Bane churches, possibly not since no direct phone line to the gods.
There will be some info regarding that coming soon as well.

We'll get back to you on that. I -think- so but will have to check or have another DM confirm.
-
The undead system is going to be reworked. Reagent based animations won't be a thing anymore I believe.

Since Kenku can only use tiny weapons, can an exception be made for wizard staffs? Kenku spellcasters will need them.
