“Involving Others”

Frankly, most of my characters have been henchmen. There's been the occasional exception but there you have it.
- To get your stuff noticed and supported, notice and support others. Find a way to make their success a success for your plot(s)
- Don't hoard the plot like it's launch codes. Get it out there. Give people a chance to support or oppose it.
- Make sure it's fun to be involved with your character

I have to echo Lyarie and people here. I find it more fun when I'm supporting others with their plots. Usually, I find something to cling on to and have my character's story build around that. It really makes my characters' stories more enjoyable and to roleplay that way.

For me the most important aspect of sucessfully involving players into ones plot/concept/faction/character is to vest in them real narrative agency of that plot/etc./etc./etc. Players care about things that they genuinely party to, and relevant in. I think this far more then taking people onto quests, dm events, being given tasks etc is what determines successfully "involving others" for me.

The more you use tools available to you IG to promote your character's agenda, the better. Relate all your quests to your idea and concept, make sendings that make sense to why you're doing these things. It'll make your quests feel like they have a real purpose, other than just go kill a cave of kobolds for the fiftieth time.
Questing is certainly involving others and the more often your expert undead hunter leads entire raiding parties in immersive RP to clear a vampire lair is infinitely cooler than being Warrior345 that wants to get all the buffs and crush every quest as quickly as possible with a min party, for example.
