I'm really confused. I'm trying to find the explanation on why XP costs should be returned to crafting scrolls in this thread, maybe I missed it, but I don't think anyone has explained why it's a good idea or better than the increasing gold costs/reducing caster level on scrolls.
If the issue is 'gold bloat/loot bloat' or being involved in PvP where people have high level scrolls, shouldn't the most reasonable route be to make the gold costs higher or reduce the caster level on specific scrolls?
Why is bringing XP costs back used to address an issue of gold/amount of scrolls or power on a specific item?
I hope I'm not butting heads with anyone. I'm just trying to sift through the unproductive comments and get to the core reason of why the DM team has decided to bring this back.
