RE: Letter For Reese @ Shylocks
Got another one for ya. Old Clan game, called "Chase the Goblin"
Chase the Goblin Rules:
All players place 3 piles of gold in front of them.
A card is drawn by all players to determine playing order. Highest card drawn is player 1.
Game Starts. A single card is dealt facedown to each player starting with Player 1 and going clockwise.
The object is to not be the player with the lowest card. (Ace is lowest card, King is highest)
Player 1 has the option to pass the card dealt to the player to their left (player 2) and take player 2's card or keep the card they were dealt.
Player 2 then has the option to pass the card they now hold to the player to their left (player 3) and take player 3's card or keep the card they have.
This continues to the last player. The last player has the option to keep the card they have or have a new card dealt from the deck.
All cards are then laid down faceup. The player with the lowest card loses one of their 3 piles of coin to the pot. If more than one player has the lowest card, they also lose a pile gold to the pot.
The cards are collected by the dealer, shuffled, and a new round of cards are dealt and the process repeats. Once a player loses all their piles of gold to the pot, they are out of the game.
The last player with a pile(s) of gold is the game winner and takes all the gold in the pot.
If another game is played, either player 2 now becomes player 1 and the order shifts clockwise or ya draw cards again to see who is Player 1. Dealer/Player preference.
If a player is dealt a King, they immediately turn it faceup. A player cannot pass a card to their left if the player to their left has a King showing.
We run through a round if ya like.
Letter For Reese @ Shylocks
Rules for Axes High, Orcs Low:
All Players ante 50 gold into the pot to start the game.
Two cards are dealt faceup to the first player (clockwise rotation). The player can bet a min. of 20 gold or a maximum of the entire pot that the next card dealt will fall between the two cards showing (Except on the first round. The first round of betting is max/min 20 gold). If the third card dealt falls between the two cards showing, the player wins the amount bet and takes it from the pot. If the third card falls outside the two cards showing, the player loses the bet and places it in the pot. If the third card is equal to either card showing, the player pays double the bet and places it in the pot. The player may pass to the next player if they do not want to bet. A player is not required to bet on any hand they are dealt. The cards showing are removed from sight and two new cards are than dealt to the next player who can either bet or pass to the next player. The game ends when there is no gold left in the pot. If the entire deck is dealt before the pot is won, the cards are reshuffled and the game continues.
Additional rules. If an Ace is dealt to a player as the first card, they can call that card High or Low before the second card is dealt. Calling the Ace Low makes it a 1, and calling it High keeps it as an Ace. A second Ace dealt is always High. If the player calls Low and the second card dealt is another Ace the hand cannot be bet on and the player's turn is passed to the next player.
The House will take 20% of each initial ante per game.
A player must be able to cover the bet they make even if they have to pay double. Not covering bets will end in with serious consequences and items of equivalent worth will be taken from a player's possessions to cover the bet. DON'T BET WHAT YOU CAN'T PAY.
RE: Swampy Items
Varity of Poisons for weapons.
A lot of creatures and plants in the swamps are poisonous. Maybe have them drop body/plant part components for existing or new poison recipes that could be added under alchemy. Not sure how many types of poison recipes are available on CoA compared to the available poisons in NWN. Maybe add more poison recipes (if they are not already available) based on these animals and plants as harvestable components. Some of the more intelligent creatures of the swamps would have droppable recipe loot since its their natural habitat and knowledge base. Recipes could be dropped from Quest spawns or random spawns in Swamp.
Snakes (Black Adder Venom Gland),
Centipedes (Centipede Venom Sack),
Wasps/Bees (Wasp/Bee Stinger)
Spiders (Spider TypeX Venom Sack),
Black Lotus (Black Lotus Flower)
