10. Go to people's things. Whether someone is giving a sermon, or looking for a magical boondoggle in the mountains, or collecting baskets of grenades for orphan gnomes, showing up and tagging along can mean a LOT to them, even if it's not in line with your character's main priorities. It doesn't always have to be about you or your character. Ask them about their project, take an interest, and it will ALWAYS reward you in the future, if not always in phat loot and XP, then maybe in the fact that they are likely to show up for your character when it's time that you are doing a thing.

RE: Ways to Keep up the Positive Vibe!
RE: Pro-Tips for PvP
Once had the situation in v4 that party was on the same map after a quest and I suddenly saw someones health bar drop down. Ran back since I thought it is a monster spawn that dropped on my team mate only to notice that PvP was going on at which point I spat out a quick ooc that it would not be fair & metagaming to intervene and left the scene.
Not to get too far off-topic, but I'd just like to point out that using the GUI in this way to monitor a party member's HP and then sprinting across the map to aid them might still be considered by some players to be a form of meta-gaming, regardless of whether it's a monster spawn or a player that's doing the damage. It may seem benign enough, but it's basing in-character actions on purely OOC information.

RE: More Ideas to Add More Interest
It might help to code the old crafting system (or something similar) back into the module. As I recall, it was removed because individuals believed it was boring, and that players' time would be better spent exploring, adventuring, plotting, or roleplaying. That's probably true, but at least with the crafting system, players had a reason to log in and do something that didn't require DM support, for the direct advancement of their character.
At least it couldn't hurt the situation.
