My favourite quest was always the ruins you found in the stonelands, with the scorpion creatures. Just a really cool environment, I'd love to see that again (unless I've missed it, player counts have been a thorn in trying quests!).

Low player counts
Hey All,
What are your best ideas for things to do with very low player count times? I often log in by myself or with one or two other people. Sometimes there may be a few people on who I can never find, because they are questing together etc.
Have you found that certain mechanical builds help when you can expect to be by yourself or with one or maybe two other players? Have you found ways to push stories etc without many people around?
Have you found good ways to interact with the other players not in your TZ?
I'm after some tips!

RE: THIS IS NOT A PVP SUX POST!!!!
I look at Puffy's list and think…Puffy must have run some serious quest trains to afford all that fat loot.

RE: What kind of player are YOU?
What are up to THREE of your OWN favourite characters to have played?
Kutter - half-orc thug, devotee of Talona. Helped set a plague off in the slums.
Archibald Trask- Red Hat Errant - tried to get Harts riding Wyverns!
Cale Fitzbaker - went from Arabellan thug to bodyguarding for CandlekeepWhat are up to THREE of your favourite characters that OTHER people have played?
Griam - Gnome cleric, looked like a golem. Awesomely played.
Sir Welston Alanvil - so much gravitas
Gregorious Fallow - super cool wizard with so much secret (then not so secret) badguy stuffDo you have a preference in storylines?
I like gritty as a rule. Smaller stories with people the major players.
How do you like your PvP?
I like it fair. No ganking please, no million potions rush - remember this is supposed to be fun! I like it when the bad guys or good guys get a chance to spoil the others plans.
Playing times?
GMT +10, nights

RE: Keep Conflict Alive
What are so meaningful ways for good characters to PVP bad characters and get a win and benefit without finishing another character?
As an evil character you can attack another group, beat them, take some gold and it's win all around. You get to scare some characters, generate some conflict, earn a little gold (or take a plot item) and not do any real damage. It's fun, I've done this with previous characters, and you pretty much stay as a nice guy OOC.
In the reverse situation, as the good guy, what do you do? It's not really ic just to grab some gold and say to the bloodstone seller/murderer whatever, got out of here you little scamp! I suppose the situation where the bad guy is captured and then let go by the law system is a possibility, and is certainly similar to real life, but I would like to hear what people think as alternatives.
As the mechanics of PVP depends on so much, who is online at the time, gold for consumables (a big one!), mechanical skill etc, I think it is great the DM's intervene to make it more fun. There is a reason they are the DM's and I generally trust that that is there intention, to make it more fun for everyone. A bunch of characters drinking a ton of potions then coming out of invisibilty and wiping the floor with their enemies is not a fun way for characters to end.

RE: Useful Wizards
I hate the so called Buff Bot. I hate them so much, that I will most often rather let them stay the f… away from my quests, than to bring them along, even if they are useful.
That is harsh. I never would stop someone for coming on a quest for OOC reasons like that.
I think playing a wizard must present it's own challenges, so I try not to judge. The biggest problem I see is lack of communication. Certain spells require other people in the party to behave a certain way or doom ensues. Also communication can help a wizard with their spell selection/use in the future, by letting them know what works, didn't work.
I don't see buffs used very much on anymore. I agree with Duck, in that it only takes a couple of spell slots to really help out the frontline of the party. Bulls Str and protection from evil will take a level 1 and level 2 spell slot, make the frontline feel good and make the group be alot more effective. Improved Invisibilty is a godsend on high level quest with high damage, high ab spawns.
Still, overall I like to see a Wizard -trying-. If they are doing that I have no problem. A wizard doing their best, contributing the RP is alot of fun, even if they don't have the best spells. I had a blast with Geek's level 2 wizard, cause he kept trying to make the fun.

RE: Minion offered, to any interesting project
Seriously, East Way is the place to go. So much potential there and plenty do, people to help.

RE: Stonelands
I was very suprised to read this post. The quest in the stonelands is one of my favourites on the server and I've done it several times recently with a new character.

RE: High Level Quests and Doing It Hard Core
I like the higher level quests. However, as you would expect, they are hard. This is not a bad thing, there should be challenging quests for higher level characters. However the challenge level means you need a balanced group of suitable skills or their will be deaths. For a start, their needs to be suitbale characters logged in at the same time. I rarely see that in my timezone.
I really don't know how to fix that.

RE: Reagents
I've returned from a long break from before this system was implemented. As some as my old character I spent long times in the underdark and such places and basically never found anything of any worth. While I've only found 1 hedge reageant since I;ve been back I think that it is very awesome that you can find cool plotty sorts of things by exploring with no DM necessary. Very awesome.
As for selling items -what is the problem:
I can think of three potential probelms:
1. Characters who want to do something through hedge magic just buy their way to it instead of pursuing the exploration/adventure aspect of getting the reagents themselves.
2. Hedge magic plots being resloved instantly by buying the reagents.
3. Characters 'farming' reagents.
Are these problems? I'm honsetly asking what the DM's/player base thinks.
