If you slapped a massive pixie infested beard on him, he would be a dead ringer for Wilhelm the gnome.

RE: RE: High Level PCs Announcement
"Soon i will be hailed as a hero!!!!!!!!!
or so i thought, dragon marches in and starts to kill everyone with its area of effect breath weapon!! panic then sets in i am "omg omg omg…no no no no...."
It takes alot of skill to handle some of the high level summons when non-hostile NPCs and PC's are in close proximity. I have managed to do so on occasion. Sometimes with two very powerfull summons at the same time. (Which likely unballanced the odd event here and there.) Many of the 7th circle summons cast some very powerfull area effect spells. Like chain lightning. Yeouch!!!
Darlene i think there can be times to use that level of power without unballancing events.(Maybe the DMs see it differently?) I would sometimes(not always but more so as i got over lvl 11) attempt to moderate the ebb and flow of the larger scale battles. When the PC mob was winning i would hold back. If they were getting WTFPAWNED i would try to help with a summons, hold off some enemies, or cast some buffs. Only to give the PC's time to recover and rally back.
The idea was to not sway the battle's outcome but to prolong it. A well placed spell or summons can do that even if it's more of an OOC consideration to prolong the battle. Much better than just "Lurking" in the shadows of the event don't you think Darlene?
I do love the chaos and excitement of the larger scale events on CoA more than anything else, or anywhere else. The longer they play out the better IMO, who wins or loses is less important to me than experiencing the event.

RE: RE: High Level PCs Announcement
The quest that gets people to level 13 should not be in the module. That was an oversight, it'll be adjusted to take you to level 12 soon.
I'm not sure it's really a big issue either way. That quest gave me something like 10-15 exp and i don't think i ever did it more than once. And that was just an OOC Test Run.
Just to clairify. When you say "the quest that gets you to level 13" don't you mean the quest for level 13's and under? Any quest a level 12 could take has the potential to "take" you to 13.
I'm assuming you mean to cap scripted quests to level 12's and under. When you say "it'll be adjusted to take you to level 12 soon."
This could be taken to mean you can start the quest at a max of level 11 and could over the course of the quest attain level 12?

RE: RE: High Level PCs Announcement
Actually there's at least one quest for lvl 13. I went on the OOC DM Test run with the other two lvl 13's who played at the time.
Are there that many characters over lvl 10 actively unballancing DM events?
Whenever i was informed by DMs i was too high a lvl for what they were doing i would gladly bow out. If i wasn't told otherwise i assumed it was ok to be involved. It was as simple as that.

RE: The Politics Of Prometheus(Spoilerish)
It's easy! With a Cloned democrat Preznit in charge of military spending cuts the Colonial Marines were forced to make do with made in China S-Mart weapons and Civil War era surplus Corn Bread rations.
While uber rich, capitalist bastard Weyland had all the best tech money could steal… um err... buy.

RE: Mandatory "The Hobbit" thread [SPOILERS]
The bird crap running down the side of Radaghast was really distracting. Don't care how messed up on shrooms you, are bird crap stinks.

RE: Mandatory "The Hobbit" thread [SPOILERS]
It's okay that the members of the council "have high enough lore" to recognize an ancient sword… but a goblin leader?
It's been a while since i read the Hobit but i belive the goblins and orcs did recognise and fear these swords. "Beater and Biter" they called them.
I thought Balin was the most effective fighter of the bunch. He had that wtf-pawn-some whirl-wind attack thing going.
