re this mention of a "socket crafting kit"
      /topic/102/changes-to-the-module/192
Is this something off the crafting menu? radial menu? a "kit" we buy in a store or find somewhere? Do we simply use a socketable gem and target a mundane item with it ?

It's on the most popular shop's repertoire. I wonder how it works and how many sockets we can add though.

If some poor English shows up in this post: and you're an English teacher, language-patriot or simply kind; please correct me. Thanks.

          It makes a socket.

You use said socket gem on the socketed item.

can I produce items with multiple sockets with it? It seems much more costly then buying the one-socket items from the right merchant.

When you socket an item, that item gets "unique power". When you use said power, it tells you how many sockets are left in that item.

Could the above be added to the description of the SocketKit (as a low-priroity request) so those who have not seen this thread would know?

It says what to do on the item. Buy it and try it out. Your all loaded.

It says to use the first charge to calibrate it.

Seems that, based on the Gold Poll, something that costs half of what most characters have could have a little description.
Especially since it has very few charges, and the vast majority of people who don't make 5k gold per session might be hesitant to ruin said charges not knowing what they are doing.

                      @Description:

This kit contains several implements that can be used to create sockets in items.

Due to the delicate nature of the process, only items that not possess existing magical energies can have sockets created in them.

The kit should first be calibrated before it can be used. ((Use the first charge on this item itself.))

I'm not sure what else you need?

The thing about checking the sockets in the item? The item gains an infinite use special power, I would have thought it was self explanatory to use that special power…

The socket kit is only 250 gold and comes with three charges, that seems pretty good to me..

I found it being sold for 250, unless I am mistaken it was in quite a common store
