[00:14] Tell you what.
[00:14] You take over Arabel
[00:14] and I will ensure that youare not NPCfied.
[00:14] Of course, first, take overArabel.
[00:14] Then we will worry about it.

[00:15] I wouldn't mind ifsomeone else took over Arabel Pol. Itsjust that I think it would be alot more funfor players in general if they could actually grasp real positions of power without being NPCified and it would bemore fun. I mean if a player creates awesome on the road to getting to a goal like that chances are they will create even more awesome if they actually got the position to effect things.
[00:16] The offer is open to anyone. There you have it ladies and gentlemen. In the past when a PC has taken over Arabel they have become NPCified wish I personally thought was a shame since I have always wanted to a PC rule Arabel and see them implement a vision of how they think the city should be run to their liking and when talking about it on IRC Polaris made this offer which he has given his permission to share with everyone. So there you have it folks you want to take Arabel and have a vision of how you think the city should be? Well here you go. Start plotting

What are you talking about? Take over Arabel? I'm already there!
-
I don't see the point of this, honestly.
This is based on the presumption that fear of being NPCfied is what is keeping people from having lofty goals and good execution, and they would actually be able to do so if this was not the case.
Is this the case? I really, really don't think so.
One would think being NPCfied is the highest honor a PC can ever get.
But the offer is open, in the 0.000001% chance that it's actually the reason.

Rabbit literally won a bloodless revolution, and he wasn't made an NPC.
In fact, I tried getting him retired as an NPC along with Novo and Lizardclaw but was turned down.
-
NPC is the highest honour a player can receive, imo. It's something I strove for in my entire time playing here but never achieved. It definitely isn't the deterrent to these concepts.
-
Kresswell didn't get NPCified because it was forced on him. He achieved all his goals and decided to retire, thus, he became an NPC because you can't have the ruler of Arabel just go poof because the player doesn't want to play it anymore.

I'm fairly sure Lizardclaw was executor of the Legion for a while after they won the war and practically was ruler.
Most NPCs are made because the player retires by choice such as Bable with Novo from what I've seen
