Tips on posting

For a while now, I've done two simple things when I post IC stuff. I'd like to know if you think these are good ideas or if there's something that should be changed. Or if you have any tips of your own.
With IC posts I never attach a signature. There's a little 'attach signature' box that can be ticked … I never tick it when posting IC stuff.
If I'm playing a character for any length of time, I try to have an image of that character as my forum avatar. Why? I'm not entirely sure but I think it may help with immersion of IC posts a bit.
Anyone else have any tips on IC posts they would like to share? How to post In Character as opposed to OOC?

I agree about the signiture thing, though it's not that much of a gripe.
I do think though, that you shouldn't regularly update more than one post on the bulletin board - just amalgamate them into one post and update that everytime to avoid an eye-sore.
I also try and keep forum-letters as a last resort, and especially in the case where I want to see someone, I just look for that person IG (if the character's an alt or not on very often, then I would probably make a post saying "hi, can we meet?")
The portrat thing could be nice. . . but I like Sadwick.

Also, I never really noticed the signiature thing before, that's a handy thing to know as some people do have rather funny and/or distracting signiature's. But I myself am not too fussed about it really, seeing them on others' or my own posts.
I think it's nice to see different fonts aswell, itallics, colored inks and the like, but it's understandable that that option is rather limited.
I do agree with --lizard-man-- that IC posts should be kept to a minimum, after all, not everyone has forum access and some prefer to keep things to the game and not go forum warrioring.It's nice that people are thinking about this and wanting to be considerate with their posting, but I don't think it anyone should be thought less of if they don't do it. :)
And I really am a Tinsel Fairy.
