I just found out some of you enjoy George R. R. Martin. So, Who is excited to watch the Series On HBO next year?

Of course! Considering that the people responsible for "Rome"(or Tudors, maybe both actually - don't remember off hand) are doing it, it just has to be better then Legend of the Seeker.

I've given up hoping he would have finished A Dance with Dragons. He's going to have a heart attack and die before it is released, then they'll put out one of the 8000 drafts, and sell a bajillion copies.
The series/show on HBO? Yeah, looking forward to it a great deal, but again, another project that is taking entirely too long and has been in the works for a number of years now.

Here's the list of who is playing who. The Actress playing Catelyn Stark Has quit, so they are replacing her. They have to reshoot every scene she was in. so the Pilot has been rescheduled for March 2011. :x

With Georgey taking an active part in creating the HBO series, there's no way it can be as shittastic as Legend of the Seeker (not that I was a fan of the books anyways..).

LMAO!!! I know what you mean! I spoke with Mr. Martin for a bit about a month ago, in Arizona. This Book turned out to be the Largest yet. He also does not wish to have the stories continued after he's gone. From what I understand, from his Website, he's completely restructuring the Book. Which has turned into 3 books. 2 as far as I know have no Titles. We'll see what happens.

Btw - I actually advise reading Martin's science - fiction as well. They're as good, if not better, as Song of Fire and Ice.

Ok, wasnt sure where to put this since there are a few threads on the topic but:
I got the first 4 books for Christmas. I'm now about halfway through book 3 (Storm of Swords)
I have to say - Book One I was prepared for most of it since I had watched Season 1 on HBO.
Book 2 - took me by surprise and I have never wanted to reach into a book and strangle a character until his eye popped out of his skull as I did with Theon Greyjoy.
Book 3 – and keep in mind I'm only halfway through - but it's made me want to find GRRM and strangle HIM until his eye pop out of his skull!! There's a book-sized indention in the wall of my room where I threw the book last night. ARGHHH!
