Helpful NWN settings…
-
Had to re-install NWN recently, and thus reconfigure the settings once it was installed. Inspired me to resurrect/bump these tips, for those that may wish to use them.
This thread is about changing the color of text that appears in your chat window, to help different types of communication stand out better:

ShoutColor=255,239,80
WhisperColor=1,255,255
TellColor=32,255,32
ServerColor=237,176,176
PartyColor=255,102,1
DMColor=207,65,183
–--------in nwnplayer.ini---------Yes, you can paste those settings in your nwnplayer.ini as they are.
Or, if you don't like my colors, put yours, they are defined in RGB notation
For MS Wndows users, right-click on desktop, Properties, Click on the Desktop tab, then on the color rectangle at the lower-right side and on "Other...". There you have a nice color table, choose those colors you like and copy the numbers.
It's not a lot of work in exchange of not mistaking a tell you received from IC talk, or to see those damn grey whispers so hard to see.
This thread discusses the use of chat logs, so that all your chat during game is saved out to a file:

ClientChatLogging=1It will overwrite the log file every time, so I made a simple vbs file that circulates the log, get it here:
http://azzmodan.homeftp.net/nwn/nwn.vbsJust edit the first line to point to your nwn directory, and use that to start. It will rename the logfile to the date and time it was created so it doesn't get overwritten.
