Player Profiles AKA Know Your Players
-
In reference to my recent post about increasing cohesion between players and DMs, I wanted to create this thread to help bridge the gap. I'm hoping that this will help DMs reach out to players in more fun and personalized ways. So, without further rabbling, I'll start it off.
And please, if you don't agree with this idea, then don't post here. Make a separate thread or something. This is only for people willing to follow the format.
What timezone do you play in?
U.S. Central Time Zone in Tennessee, so -5/-6.What kind of plots do you like to be involved in?
I enjoy deep, roleplaying-intensive events that involve a lot of skill checks, imaginative thinking on both ends, and significant impressions after the event is over - meaning that it has some long-lasting impact on the character. Alternatively, I do also enjoy mass-combat events such as full-scale battles, tactical stealth operations, and legions of fun/interesting enemies.
What kind of Factions do you like to be involved with?
I can usually go with whatever alignment/class except for caster-heavy factions. I have a particular love for evil factions, especially blatantly evil factions, such as the Legion on a good day.
What do you like to do with your time in the game?
Admittedly, I'm a quest fiend. I'll ever start my day off with a quick quest or two, then I'll dive into plotting and scheming unless I'm being called away from the get-go. If that happens, I spend my time trying to encourage others to come out and do things with me while we talk instead of locking ourselves up in a faction headquarters room.
What do you do outside of CoA? Do you play any other games?I'm currently unemployed at the time of this post, but I'm still working on my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at a little university in Tennessee. When I'm not adventuring around on CoA, I'm hanging out with Benny (my better half) doing all sorts of things - playing Magic, taking hikes, watching movies, and the occasional glow/fire spinning.

I started playing Red Box D&D around 1981 or 1982. I started DMing AD&D sometime around '84. I also played Traveller, Gamma World, Call of Cthulu, Battletech, Mechwarrior, and Twilight 2000. I ran a campaign almost every day for about 2 years in High School in the library at lunch. Recently, I introduced my kids to 4th Edition and the new Gamma World.Do you have a nickname?
