Y U so lagged?

I think the "Oh look, lower player count means no more players joining! Boohoo!" mentality is hurting the server, because NwN is not exactly marketing new players anymore, being that it's an entirely FREE game.
I think we're supposed to invite friends from our real life, that also like games and RPGs, to play on our server instead.
Your server garners players when it's fun and interesting to play in, not when people see "high numbers".
Perhaps the lag I've been feeling has been because of a combination of high player count with long a up-time of the server (and bloated scripts cough cough).
But whatevs. I do hope one day to have enough money to pay you guys for all your work. ^_^

Pretty sure server population is not the problem for lag, as there used to be alot more players regularly and the lag was less.
A big cause of lag in many cases is scripts being used, especially Heartbeat scripts

I believe this is correlated. "High numbers", aside from showing up a high number on the server list, also means more players IG and more potential for player interactions!

Agreed.
Excessive lag does kill the fun for me though, since people get stuck solely on the RP part of their character's build.

Quit beating this poor horse, let it rest in piece already!

More frequent server resets (daily or more) would help. Otherwise, I have no issues with lag.
