Vincent will start to narrow down his search to local families, using his own age a limit to how far back to search. Looking for reports of lost wives, unaccounted for children. His focus would be on economists, captains of industry.
failing that he'd start to look at rumors of mistresses or illgitmate and bastards.
-
He finds a shit ton of info and should narrow his search.
-
he'd sigh looking at the mountain of leads, muttering "You'd think they'd be more careful with their children". Going off the mantra "his tool wasn't a hammer but his mind" starting with families that had history of arcanists, scholars and investors.
Though a certain house Thond came to mind as it ticked the whole his mind is a tool thing.

The City of Arabel has played host to dozens of noble families whose genealogies are maintained by the Heralds of Faerun. Illegitimate children with no chance of inheritance are not documented in the family records unless upon request of the noble sire with the presumption of the child inheriting at the expense of of other heirs or the lack thereof. It is considered an evidentiary sign of infidelity for bastards to appear on such 'official' genealogies, though some seem to care more than most.
As such, while he does indeed find documentation that families possessed bastards- their mother/father is often discretely left unmentioned with their mention being a passing mention of their historical significance.

The soft thud of forehead meeting book and table can be heard, as he sifts through lead after lead after lead. Before quiet sobbing "His tool isn't a hammer but his mind"

- A Heraldry of the Family
- Dates of Birth or Death
Without these, he simply advises Prize to give up.
