Letter: Judge Johan - New Law: Slandering the City Council

  • Honourable Judge,

Currently if a citizen slanders the City Council there is no just punishment. The crime that comes closest to slandering the City Council is Treason via undermining the City Council and its interests (As detailed by Lord Hawklin in the Council's files.
This would never stick in a just court, leaving the Council defenceless to those seeking to lie to harm our reputation.

Please amend the Book of Law with haste to include the new Minor Crime:

    Slander of the City Council:
Slandering the City Council is considered a crime. The severity can range from petty to minor, depending on the degree of slander. Slander is defined as untruthful statements made in the effort to damage the reputation of another. Statements made with significant proof of truth are not slander.
