The Bluebird's Songbook

  • Beat It

They told him don't you ever come around here
Don't want to pay our fare? You better disappear!
Our value's on the rise and our price is very clear, so beat it
    Just beat it!

You better cave, you better pay while you can!
Don't want to spill your blood? Don't play the macho man! Hoo-ah!
You want to seem tough, better hire out brawn, or beat it...
But you want our blades bad!

Just beat it! Beat it! Beat it! Beat it!
No one wants to pay our leader!
But we'll show that our bite's as strong as our bark!
Cause doesn't matter if pay is just right!
    Just beat it

They're out to get you, best cough up while you can
Don't want to hire boys, you want the Golden Guard!
You want to stay alive, better hire our lads
Or beat it... Just beat it!

You want to show them that you're really not scared?
You're playing with your life, this isn't truth or dare!
They'll rob you, they'll kill you, and I tell you our cost's fair!
So pay it... While you still have a head!

Or beat it! Beat it! Beat it! Beat it!
No one wants to pay our leader!
But we'll show that our bite's as strong as our bark!
Cause doesn't matter if pay is just right!
    Just beat it

Beat it! Beat it! Beat it! Beat it!
No one wants to pay our leader!
But we'll show that our bite's as strong as our bark!
Cause doesn't matter if pay is just right!
    Just beat it

  • The Plankcracker

    Raise your mug high above!
Let us make one last toast!
Drink with us! Drink for our freedom!
As heavens look down on us drunks!
    Hey!

If you've lost your way you listen well
This isn't the night your adventure can end
For what matters is the road itself!
To fall, to overcome, persevere and to learn!
    Hey!

If you've lost a kiss in bleak good-byes
Or are running away from a fate you deny
There's for certain friends within these walls
Embrace us, my brother, sing loudly right now!

In this our dear tavern, the adventurers
Tell us their stories, inspiring our hearts
Together we stand if together we've downed ales
With us by your side there's no reason to hide!

    Raise your mug high above!
Let us make one last toast!
Drink with us, drink for our freedom!
As heavens look down on us drunks!

If the roads outside are cold and dark
And you cannot control your own shivering hands
Take for certain that the sun will rise!
And while that time comes we invite you inside!

In this our dear tavern, the adventurers
When seeing their mugs dry to battle depart
And fight with their vials of 'Bark and of Bull's Strength
And rush all of those that will drink their rewards!

    Raise your mug high above!
Let us make one last toast!
Drink with us, drink for our freedom!
As heavens look down on us drunks!

    Raise your mug, here alone...
Toast with me, glad just to live...
Keep me warm... 'Till the dawn...
This night I am here just for thee...

    Yeah!

    Raise your mug high above!
Let us make one final toast!
Drink with us, drink for our freedom!
As heavens look down on us drunks!

    Raise your mug high above!
Let us make one last toast!
Drink with us, drink for our freedom!
As heavens look down on us drunks!

Raise that mug high, my brother!

  • The Inquisitive Dragon

Silent, her step is silent, as she comes near – a Dragon out for pleas
And answers, she demands answers, pragmatically – smiling at signs of fear

The questions she asks! Are getting scarier
So indulge the femme-Blade, she'll beat the truths from thee!

Licence! Yes she has the licence, to do as pleased - and nice is not her thing
It's violence... She's out for violence... And volunteers! Let's see how bad this stings

The questions she asks! Are getting scarier
So indulge the femme-Blade, she'll beat the truths from thee!

The questions she asks! Are getting scarier
So indulge the femme-Blade, she'll beat the truths from thee!

  • The Age Of Oppression

We drink to our youth, to days come and gone
For the age of oppression is now nearly done
We'll route the Militia from this land that we own
With our blood and our steel we will take back our home

We bow down to no one, no Private nor king
In the name of our freedom we drink and we sing
We're the children of Old Town and we fight all our lives
And when silent gods beckon, we will hold our heads high

But this land is ours and we'll see it wiped clean!
Of the scourge that has sullied or hopes and our dreams!

We drink to our youth, to days come and gone...
For the age of oppression is now nearly done

  • Hold The Line

It's not in the way that you've held, dear, it's not in the way you said you care
It's not in the way you've been hyped by my friends, it's not in the way that you'll stay 'till spells fade
It's not in the way that you fight, it's the price that you charged!

Hold the line! Reinforcements aren't always on time! Oh oh oh
Hold the line! Reinforcements aren't always on time! Oh oh oh

It's not in the words that you told me, merc! It's not in the way you say your blade's mine!
It's not in the way that you carry that shield, it's all in the way that you charged me a fee...
It's not in the way that you fight, it's the price that you charged!

Hold the line! Reinforcements aren't always on time! Oh oh oh
Hold the line! Reinforcements aren't always on time! Oh oh oh

Hold the line! Reinforcements aren't always on time! Oh oh oh
Hold the line! Reinforcements aren't always on time! Oh oh oh

  • From The Shadows, A Light (The Ballad Of Tilverton)

From the shadows, a light, from dust brought up through strife
Our town is a promise, and its future's our hands
Oh Tilverton, Tilverton, from the shadows a light
Our town is a promise, she's a brave and new land

With the sun at our backs, and hot sweat on our brows
We ride, through the forests, and our guides are the stars
Oh Tilverton, Tilverton, from the shadows a light
We reach for the promise so our new lives may start

Oh Tilverton, Tilverton, from the shadows a light
We reach for the promise... So our new lives may start

  • These Martyrs

These martyrs... Seek no adoration, no promises of preservation
The greenskins came for children in their sleep, but met these heroes... Forgotten heroes

Wake up, get up my child! You've got to shake this fear! And hear my story... Or they will disappear!
You've got the power to do incredible things, the Dragons fell to make a certainty of this

These martyrs... Seek no adoration, no promises of preservation
The greenskins came for children in their sleep, but met these heroes... Forgotten heroes

If you were caught between these creatures and your palisades
Would you run and hide or stand for colours you wear?
Maybe these whispers... Were right all along - the ones that say we'll never make a difference...
Maybe this battle is to fight indifference!

These martyrs... Seek no adoration, no promises of preservation
The greenskins came for children in their sleep, but met these heroes... Forgotten heroes

If you hold your ground, you can eclipse the Sun!
We swear we won't forget, we swear we won't forget
If you hold your ground, your song will never stop!
We swear we won't forget, we swore we won't forget

When at night you are safe in your houses
The Purple Dragons, they're always watching!

Oblivion stamps them out, we've got to fan the flame!
This is for dying breaths! Not... Yet!
So keep your dust that sets, erasing all our names!
    We'll sing with dying breaths!

If you hold your ground, you can eclipse the Sun!
    We swear we won't forget...
If you hold your ground, your song will never stop
The banner fell that day, that didn't spell their end
Their song has just begun, their song has just begun

  • A Wound In The Fog

The Moon, she hangs dead upon the night
As soft winds whisper the bidding of trees
And this horrid tale starts with enchanted bold hearts
Oh, their midnight-march trampling our fears

    But oh, no tears please
This my tale may be followed by screams!
    And it is our dreams...
That fuel or doom us with our greed as we... Shall see…

They were the night's twisted creatures, their eyes reddened mirrors...
    These Malar-spawn
Always hidden from vision, breathing nearer and nearer...
Until they charged and howled and snarled! On from twisted tree-lines!
And from behind, six Malar-spawns… A wound in the fog!

Oh fateful night! When the trees stank of camphor and blight!
Our torches chased these phantoms and cast
An ephemeral light, on these creatures that prowled
For the adventurers lured by the light of the Moon!

Putting reason to flight or to death as our way
    They crept through woods mesmerized!
By the blade of the brave, these adventurers kept
    Over darkness surveyed!
Fair that mist on the rise, a deadly blessing to hide...
    A wound in the fog!

And in their ranks, a Malar-spawn... A wound in the fog!

  • In Reverie

In the Dream... The voice beckoned silently
Reaching deep... Through our thoughts once violent, ill
Taking our hand, they said that everything was done
Follow their light, wait no more for peace to dawn!

Now the time has come! And we are a single form!
At last there are no senseless thoughts
And all of Toril's pain... Now a dark and muddled dream
    At last, welcome to... Eternity

Prepare to head home! The Dream beckons, charming us
The wind... Is bringing us, our ancestors
So let us see their eyes! Let us dive deep like a child!
It is time to be reborn, to start...

So come on, goodbye! All is behind... And everything's alright
Enjoy the flight and gaze... Into the Stars

    Now we're saved
