I just saw that Harry needed some help with his german… And, since I am taking spanish next semester... I figured I would do us both a favour and seek the help of the community to improve RL situations a little.

Thus I present The Off Topic Language Aid.
Build in two easy parts... One, you know a language and can waste an hour or so a week with questions from your fellow players

And Two, you have a language problem of which you need some assistance with.

In short, Harry, ill love to help you with your german. I am not -that- advanced in it, but I know my way around it.

And if anyone can help a bit with some spanish from time to time, it would be emensely appreciated.

      -Olouth

Character: Wouldnt you like to know?
Olouthitis: Character does awesome things for a few months, but inevitability hijacks an air ship and crashes it into an evil faction head quarters screaming battle cries.

^ That being said, for the players who know English as a second language, I'm a bit of a grammar/vocabulary Nazi. If you need English help, send me a tell.

I approve of any help anyone offers. I'll be buying my materials at the end of this month or early February. If I can convince my wife that it's worth it, I'll be taking the distance course from the Goethe Institut, even if the pricetag is a bit out there. I'll holler at you (and Snakes and thorkm!) once I get started and my inevitable questions pop up.

Fluent in Klingon, but, unable to help since this writing thingy you got here doesn't support the language.

There won't be much demand for this but I'm a native Dutch speaker.

I don't think I'd have trouble reading English, German or even French, so I could be of help with that, although there's probably better choices (i.e. native speakers)

I don't have a specific language I'm actively looking for help with; of course I'd be happy for any mistakes I make to be pointed out, and it would be interesting to follow others' questions/answers.

AFAIK you can just use regular Latin letters for Klingon, just like you'd use Roumaji for Japanese or pin1yin1 for Mandarin.

I'm guessing you considered this, but have you thought of Rosetta Stone? A LOT of times you can pick up a free copy (for borrowing purposes) from your local county library, and the State Department and military Comm squadrons SWEAR by this product.

Someone needs to stuff a large, smelly, and slightly most sock into their mouth and start chewing on it.

There is no comma between moist and sock.

I suspect you're at high risk of misinterpreting a Japanese sentence written in romaji (or maybe even in kana). Pinyin definitely will mislead you, even with the tone marks and word seperations.
French native speaker here, which means I'm probably hopeless at explaining grammar to anyone. I wouldn't even try giving hints on the other languages I did learn.

There is no coincidence in this world, only ineluctable

                                        Something like:
"una mela al giorno leva il medico di torno"

"Bacco, tabacco e Venere riducono l'uomo in cenere"

                                        or something like:

"Un cappuccino tiepido e con tanta schiuma, con una brioche, per favore!"

If Chuck Norris had performed in 300, the film would be called 1.
