Holy Sword

Hey there. I heard a while ago this spell was nerfed significantly from its default version due to certain combinations in CoA being "OP" with it. I've tried searching the forum for said nerfs but I can't seem to find them anywhere.
Was this spell really nerfed, and if so what is the spells current stats?

I am going to assume you meant "Bless Weapon". Holy Sword is WAYYYYY too powerful for this server, I don't know if it has ever been used here before. I linked Holy Sword for you below.
As far as "Bless Weapon" goes, I think it was due to the weird bonus you got when using it on bolts. If you used Bless Weapon on bolts, for some strange reason it gained the property "on-hit: slay rakshasa", which would be very strong in certain situations. As far as I know, if you use it on a melee weapon nothing has changed.
Holy Sword:
! Description: This spell transforms the caster's melee weapon into a powerful holy avenger, a specially blessed weapon that, when wielded by paladin, acts like a +5 holy weapon that dispels magic on-hit, delivers an additional +1d6 divine damage against evil aligned creatures and grants the wielder a spell resistance of 16.

Blessed bolts are supposed to do that, blessed bolts killing raks has been in D&D for many decades, since possibly even first edition. Don't know if Bless Weapon was supposed to as you point out, it may've been a weird bug.

I think it was intentional, just from looking over the NWN wiki and some stuff. I think it was removed here for balance reasons, otherwise a level 4 paladin with some truestrike potions could wipe out Rak's like it was nothing.

No. I meant Holy Sword. There was talk back when Oscar the evil aligned Paladin was around. I'm certain they nerfed the spell in some sort of way, because it is indeed a very strong spell. I just can't find out what they did to it exactly.
There are certain items in game which allow you to use this spell, the holy avenger being an example, at CL 15. Which means 15 rounds of Holy Sword. I've used it once however, back in the Wheat King Saga, but I swear it lasted a handful of rounds, if even.

The spell that you can use from an item, has indeed been nerfed. I don't remember the specifics, but it's still pretty damn badass, just not godlike badass anymore.

Ayy fam that was the best of times. 99% sure that Moloch nerfed it down to +3 instead of +5.

Well I nerfed it. But yeah it's +3 not 5, the Sr is lower, the on hit dispel is lower level and dc. Everything got lowered to more sensible levels.
