I seem to remember being able to play online with my Daughter in the past (I haven't played online in several years….)

I started playing again and she decided that she would try Arabel again as well.

I've got two sets of CD keys, but when we both sign in one of us gets kicked out of the game....is this a router issue, or a game issue...anyone have any issues like this, or any pointers of where to look for a solution?

check the nwncdkey.ini file on both PCs to ensure that they are infact different. I have created two files called Dadcdkey.ini and JennyCDKey.ini and then I copy one of those to nwncdkey.ini on one machine and the other on the other PC.

Also, check which Player login name you use to log in with. Obviously, you need to use different accounts.

You need to set the game to different ports. In the nwnplayer.ini file, there is a setting for the client port

          Client Port=5120

You need to make sure one of you is on 5120 and the other on 5121

Do you, Yardsale? I have two PC's that I regularly play with my daughter on CoA and both ports are set to 5120.

It will depend on the way your local network is setup and what version of router you have at home.

Some routers will get confused if it needs to send separate game info to two computers that are running on the same port.

A while ago, we ran a DM quest and me, Snowy and Hint of Insanity were all in the same room. We had to change the ports otherwise we would always get disconnected when we were all set to the same game port.

                  That's a scary thought.

It happens more often than you'd think!

I verified that our licenses are different, even uninstalled from mine and verfified which one she had, then installed the other on my computer.

I've also reset the ports, so both of us are using a differnet port now. This helped, and we could both log in…but on my screen I went invis (but not on anyone elses) and she could not send tells to me, but I could to her.

So I'm getting closer, but still not quite there....

This was never a problem before I switched ISP's, now I've got the cable modem doing NATing and the router doing its own NATing and I think there is a disconnect happening between the two. I've tried to set the cable model and the router up to allow for single device NATing, but I get a no go everytime.

Any other advice or thoughts guys? And thanks for your help, I really appreciate it.

I ensure you there was only a minimal amount of character death during that particular event in which we DMed together.
