Public CD keys?

A friend of mine is looking to join CoA at the moment. I have two sets of NWN since I thought I lost my first one and bought a new one.
The question is that I believe there are some sorts of conflict? Which public CD keys do servers look at? the original NWN one, or the latest HoTU one?

If you have 2 sets of 3 keys, you can give one to your friend and he will be able to play here with you.
The first key (the original game one, not the expansions) is used to determine your public key.
