Neverwinter Nights MMO official

This looks really, really shit
-
No bards?!
That's abhorrent and shouldn't even be allowed. 4th edidtion is poo. -
I was gladly surprised hearing that they will make a co-op game. Something fresh at last!
Unfortunately Cryptic has been spewing out dumbed down mainstream MMO games for kids so far so they really have a big task in front of them.
Also it is a shame they are not really exploring the zone in BETWEEN multiplayer and massive worlds…the PW's from NWN.
Otherwise playing in a constricted environment with just thoose 4 friends will just feel dumb for us that have played on PW's.
-
"Dumbed down mainstream MMO games for kids" is the funniest thing I've ever heard. Any MMO that isn't mainstream is a gigantic financial failure-and all MMOs are made for kids, excepting perhaps Age of Conan, which of course, was a gigantic failure.
-
Mmm…thats what I'm saying basically.
There is a chance in a hundred or so that Cryptic is going to go for something different here. And I don't mean a different MMO but something COMPLETELY different.
They are of to a good start by not labeling their game as an MMO…so let us avoid the word as well...

@Amber:
No bards?!
Actually I think they cut down on the classes. So they are initially using a lot less classes than 4th ed I guess(?).
Even if the information is contradicting at this stage I actually read they they where going to add more classes later on….doh...
-
I just don't understand their logic.
They are making a DND game about Neverwinter (again) that everyone knows only mega-nerds (like everyone here, including me) will play. Then they cut down the classes and dumb it all down, which is only going to piss off mega-nerds (which is their target audience).
No wonder people always bash Cryptic, they're idiots. :?
-
I can see where you are going but personally just because there is a lot of classes or races to choose from that doesn't make me feel so much more hardcore.
In fact I could do without most of the crap subraces that where introduced into NWN. I am tired of every other player being a half-dragon, half-fiend, planetouched, vampire gimp.
About the dumbing down…let's hope not. The classes can still be done in a good way.
Besides...I read somewhere that they where gonna add more classes later on....hmm..does it echo in here?

I think there's a lot of people thinking of the wrong game. They're probably trying to cash in on people who played the other Neverwinter Nights, not this one. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neverwinte ... _(AOL_game <- Stupid wikipedia artcles and their brackets, just copy that whole bit from the http through to the last )
Course, when that was around, it was successful for two main reasons - it was free (to AOL users) and it was the only graphical MMO at its time.
Check out the photorealistic graphics!
-
Lol. They're talking about Bioware's one, which received Universal acclaim. Most people won't remember the AOL game.
-
AOL? What the **** is the internet?
-
Yeah, my bad - missed the whole atari involvement thing.
Upon further reflection, this sounds like Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance.

Damn do I ever miss the Goldbox engine.

Is that one at the top right doing the robot?
-
I'm one of the people who don't remember this game…because I simply never knew about it and never played it (NWN AOL).

Look up WWII on line my friend. That is no kids game. It's the most intense and realistic war simulation I have ever played. It has not been a gigantic financial failure.

He's walking like an Egyptian.

Demon stone was only slightly multiplayer on the PS2 (camera follows main player only), no multiplayer on PC. Big Fail, marketing decision if ever I saw one.
"It's DnD, those guys won't want to play with other people, they're antisocial!"
(I love how people can think that about a game that needs at least 4 people to play. Would they say Twister is antisocial?) -
Syntax plays Twister on his own
