I'm looking to get a relatively big game together, if anyone is interested. Maybe a few big games. Civ5 comes out in a month, I've been itching to dominate some peons in 4 one last time though.

Sure, sounds abnormally long and time consuming. Should be a hoot to play while afk, at work, or while playing starcraft 2.

          End Turn.

Probably the longest I've ever played a single multi-player game..

Eraamion, B-Rock and I had a huge game going. Poor B-Rock got rocked, but hope we get another one up soon!

Yes, so, it went like this:

The poor Eraamion's French toiled in the heat of jungles while Brock's English were evilly spying on Golw's Carthage until they provoked a naval war. Carthage held but soon an army of English pikemen landed on its soil, formidable against the otherwise dread war elephants. This led to the downfall of Carthage's holy city and their plea for help. France offered to act as a mediator and proposed a bathing session where all conflict would be resolved, but it went unheeded.

Unnoticed, France's power grew and soon a formidable navy sailed out westward. The direction became apparent once they began blocking all of England's naval routes - and the pundits heatedly discussed about the possible deals brokered behind the scenes.

So it came to pass that France and Carthage joined their forces against the agressor and razed English cities to the ground. The French expeditionary forces returned to the homeland and were welcomed as heroes - however, instead of enjoying their wives and children they had not seen for years, they were ushered into some secret military base.

Large army movements could not go unnoticed and Justinian of the Byzantines had a smoothly working spying network - he learned of the plot between Carthage and France to destroy his prominent empire. He declared a war upon them but it was too late as Carthage's superior infantry landed near his most strategic resources. France's cannons began their onslaught, supported by zeppelins from the air, and so it came to pass that Heraclea was conquered.

But the power of Byzantium was far too great, and out of the deepest hinterland there came a host of cavalry armies and drove France back, shattering the tide.

Then it was 8am and I had to go to work.

Looking forward for the next game! :D

                            I'm gonna get so owned.

It just took me fifteen minutes to work out how to build farms, and I still don't know how to increase the population of a city!

                            Should be interesting.

                                The shorter explanation is..

Carthage was in an age of technological wonder, whilst England was a naval superpower and France was a backward place of primitives holding a large plot of land. When England's forces overwhelmed my civilized, peaceful scientists, I was forced to bring France out of the Bronze Age and share in my Renaissance, they quickly built a navy and we were able to fight back the galleon fleet with a combined force of frigates, and a Ship of the Line or two.

Was fun, but we're not playing on a Huge Map again.

Pardon me? I stick to historical facts. I did not say it would be bathing in water - you can have perfume baths too.

                                          ;D

Anyway. Yesterday's experience taught us we have to enforce time limit per turn and opt for a lower number of players, 4 seems as a good standard.

The core remains myself, Brock and golw, so anyone who is willing to play fast, be ready in 7-8 hours from now!

Games of 8 players is great, as long as they don't rage quit. Either the fast or blazing timer does wonders. 20 seconds per turn on blazing at the start.
