On modifying armor
-
After the recent PvP all of my gear was taken away and handed out. One of these was a suit of armor, specifically named the "Bone Armor". If I heard correctly, an Agent modified it to lose the Bone Pieces visible on the armor, so that Muric (and his allies) would not be able to identify it (that was the IG explanation at least).
I would just like to point out that certain suits of armor should not be modified to the point where they no longer resemble what they are meant to look like, according to the name of description. One such example is pink armor, which as the name suggests is pink (so changing its color should not be an option) or turning a Loincloth into a formal noble evening set. I mean, if an armor is made of bones taking the bones away turns it into… uh... nothing?
I did modify the original set, taking away the sleeves to give it a more "cult-like" look, but I made sure that the bones always stayed visible.
So perhaps, just as my own personal reminder, there is nothing wrong about modifying armor, as long as you do not change it to the point where it does not go along with its description or name.

That makes little sense, yeah.
On the other hand, I think you can add bone-like texture to craftable armors. I think it's a nice option.
Bone armor is clearly made to be uniquely bone though.
Well, feels clear for me. Sorry. -
Note for DMs - marking an armour as plot prevents modifications, but still allows dying.
An armour like this should have been marked as plot.

Yeah, things like this are supposed to look a certain way. But sometimes DMs are lazy and/or forget!
