      Got DM permission to make this post.

      As some of you may or may not be aware, July is National Strawberry Harvesting month. More relevant to CoA, this is Applicationless July.
      /topic/1200

      That means you can join a faction without having to write an application, the DMs will write one for you!

      Why should you join a DM faction? It comes with many exciting benefits!

      *Membership in a prominent organization which helps give your character direction and drive!
      *Guaranteed conflict with faction enemies!
      *Most factions have pretty looking capes!
      *They are a lot of fun!
      *Ecetera!

      Two factions right now are close to empty. The Cormyrian Embassy and the Scholars of Candlekeep.

      There are also VERY few prestige classes approved at the moment so this is a good time to show interest inn one!

      Use this thread to ask faction members or DMs questions if you are interested in joining.

      @Candlekeep:

      The Custodians of Candlekeep
      Race Limits: None
      Class Limits: Non Paladin, Clerics require a special application, speak to a DM first.
      Alignment: None
      Preferred Deity: None
      Other Requirement: At least 12 INT & 4 Lore on creation is required.
      Preferred Classes: Wizards, Sorcerers, Bards, Rogues. Fighters for guards, possibly Barbarians. PrCs to be concidered also.

      @Requirements:

      Cormyrian Envoy

      Why Join: The Cormyrian Embassy is made up of Nobles and trusted Officials of Cormyr, tasked to build her strength as an ally, keep trade flowing freely, ensure the rights of Cormyrian Subjects in free Arabel. Its Purple Dragons are tasked to aid with the defense of Arabel, along with the Embassy itself.

      Requirements to Join

      • Preferred level: Any
      • Preferred Classes: Non-Druid
      • Preferred Deity: Any
      • Preferred Alignments: Non-Chaotic
      • Race Limitations: Human & Half-Elven are more common, any race accepted within reason.

      Method of Joining: All applicants must be from the nation of Cormyr and show a degree of initiative towards further the influence of Cormyr.

      Background Information;

      After the liberation of Arabel from Cormyr the Purple Dragon army fought with the Phoenix Legion until the defeat of its’ leader and founder, Gondegal. With Cormyr recovering from this war coupled with the many before it the nation does not have the strength or inclination to retake the city by force.

      With the return of Myrmeen Lhal a truce was established allowing the Purple Dragons to establish a base and Cormyr Envoys to the city.

      Purple Dragon Soldier

      The armed forces of Cormyr are a long established and well recognised force in Faerun, hailed widely as defenders of the nation. They represent the very best in well disciplined and highly trained troops.

      • Preferred level: Any
      • Class Limitations: Non-Druid
      • Alignment: Non-Chaotic Prominent
      • Race Limitations: Human & Half-Elven preferred
      • Preferred Deity: Any but Helm, The Red Knight, Torm & Tyr are prominent
      • Other: Must be able to wield Martial Weapons, Scouts must have 1 level of ranger to every 2 of another.

      Method of Joining: Pre-creation or a recommended Cormyrian Subject if post creation.

      Additional Notes:

      • Purple Dragons may be eligible for the Purple Dragon Knight PrC. However, this requires a separate application.

        I second this post, There is only 2 people in Candlekeep (Myself just joined) and i believe 2 in Cormyrian Embassy (Guessing!) That leaves alot of room for people. I know i have a whole bunch of plans that need a bunch of people!

        Aswell i am not a very good app writer, i used the applicationless month to my advantage it was the best thing i've ever done, VERY helpful.

          Candlekeep has only ever really had 1 person, Andros Olen. Anyone looking to have an impact on a faction would do well to try there.

                Hey there guys, I'm new player and I'd like to join a faction.

                I'm not sure which one though because they all look fun! However, I wanted to ask if some of them were harder to join and if it's the case, which?

                      Typically the ones with the most players in them at the moment would be the hardest to get approved for, but any of them are possible so long as your character's concept is interesting enough and his goals will be fun for alot of people.

                      Lord Qu'Larq, High Consul of the Zhentarim Empire and Lord of the Helmlands.

                      QU'LARQ, with two "Q"s. Not "G", not "K". "Q".

                          War Wizard, unlikely.

                          Envoy, hell yes.

                            Well I read through it and I'd imagine that nobility would be harder than warwizard. Who are those other trusted officials of Cormyr exactly?

                                Not true. But we are more awesome than the Cormyrian embassy. Because our head of house is levul tin!

                                Character: Wouldnt you like to know?
                                Olouthitis: Character does awesome things for a few months, but inevitability hijacks an air ship and crashes it into an evil faction head quarters screaming battle cries.

                                  gDarDog is a great add, but folks there are 4 other open rooms in the Tower. The Custodians are the most open faction there is, not just because of the 4 rooms either. You can make just about any character you can think of and just tweak it slightly to fit. Plus with the Appless month on, it does not get any easier then this.
