Ophelia searches the Thayan collection of books and the public libraries for information on obsidian golems and how they are made. She particularly looks for any references to covering a dead body with obsidian, or creation of these golems from corpses of the once-living.

Ophelia find no reference of obsidian golems anywhere in any archive, it appears to be considered impossible to create golems of such fragile materials. Most simply mention how unpopular it is amongst jewellers and how most avoid using them. They are however, in the Underdark a popular gem and quite common. Perhaps for it's dark but sparkling nature, not giving your position away even when wearing fine jewellery.
