A Neat Article About Storytelling
-
Someone posted this article about storytelling on my Facebook feed. I don't care what haters say, Pixar movies always seem to have all of the best elements of classic storytelling, so it's neat to read their "rules." I would say a lot of it is super helpful for role-playing games too, especially 14, 15, 21, and 22, as far as creating and playing characters goes!

One very good point there that is especially useful to roleplay is the "think of what interests you as an audience not what is fun to do as a writer, they can be very different" I am guilty of creating several characters that were fun to create and form a backstory yet simply didn't seem that interesting to everyone else. No one's going to care about my character's background, history and past deeds if he simply doesn't seem that interesting on the outside :-)
