Avengers movie - Spoiler Potential Lurks Within!
-
Saw it, loved it. Will see it again. I thought it was better than any of the other Marvel superhero movies to date. It was Dark Knight good.
-
Utterly epic. Surpassed all my expectations.

I took the Wife to the Avengers last night. Damn fine show. Much better than most of the comic book movies I've seen. I haven't been to the theater for a while. I was mildly surprised that it was 14 dollars for a large soda and popcorn…
-
I totally had a nerdgasm.
Captain America AND Thor on the same screen?! OMG!
The lines were fantastic. "Pucker up, Legolas" -
Loved it too, might be worth put a spoiler tag in this thread title btw.
Anyway, what class and alignment do you think the Avengers are?
Cpt America - LG fighter
Hulk - CN expert/barb
Iron Man - CN/CG expert with good kit maybe?
Thor - CG cleric
Hawkeye - LG rogue, with a bias towards bows
Black Widow - NG rogue
Nick Fury - NG fighter maybe? -

Good call. Now we can actually TALK about it! :D
I believe I embarassed my wife twice.
- When Hulk went thrash-o-matic on Loki
and - Freaking. Thanos.

Does anyone know what the hulks said after he snapped Loki like a wet towel? Everyone was laughing so hard I couldn't hear the line.
-
Punny god. :D

BRILLIANT!! Thank you! I couldn't hear it over everyone (read: myself) either!
-
puny, not punny!
-
Great film full of action, humour and awesome characters! Will defo buy it on DVD.

Hulk snapping Loki like a wet tower: propably the most hilarious moment of -any- movie made this millenium! PUNY GOD….
-
I also liked when Hulk and Thor were standing still after defeating the flying bug thing… Then Hulk just sucker punches Thor for no apperant reason. Made me LoL.
-
"That man over there is playing Galaga."
That…was fantastic.
-
The movie was brilliant. Pure and simple.

"Killsteal. Bitch." slap
This had me in tears… I laughed so hard.
The expression on Loki's face after Hulk had violated him was also priceless.

Watched it again yesterday afternoon (took the kids this time - 12 and 9, and my 9yr old is a huge superhero fanatic.) Such an amazing piece of cinema even the second time. Stark has some of the best one-liners, no doubt.
"Umm.. his first name is Agent."
I'm betting schawarma sales are up 500% nationwide over the weekend, too.
But on my second viewing I think the performance I enjoyed the most this time around was Tom Hiddleston's Loki (the first time, I was just entirely too Hulked out to notice all of Hiddleston's subtleties.) I really liked him in Thor as well, of course. But it seems like he flashed that classic trademark Loki smile a LOT more often in Avengers than in Thor. I think he really captured all the things that make Loki such a great archnemesis.
I've been involved in a long-running Champions campaign for about 10 years now (Super hero RPG - they made a MMORPG out of the IP. Played a really early, really crappy demo of it at GenCon one year and haven't touched it since.) We've been taking a short break from playing our Supers game for a sci-fi campaign that I've put together set in the StarCraft universe, which is a lot of fun, but after this past weekend, I'm sure everyone in the group is chomping at the bit to get back into playing Supers - I know I am.

Hulk was my surprise favorite (both as Bruce and Hulk), especially after the last disappointing Hulk renditions. Iron Man was stellar as well, and Thor was mildly interesting this time around (though I thought his movie was awful and hokey). Loki was a good bad guy and I enjoyed his roll. I was a little bored by Widow, Hawkeye, and Cpt. America. I thought Cpt America's movie was up there with Iron Man, but he was just a let down in this movie.
Still, I'd give it a solid 5/5 (would say 6 out of 5 if that was allowed) and would love to see it again soon!
And oh my god, the Hulk sucker punch and then Hulk vs Loki.. I laughed so hard my upper abdomen cramped up. Painful. Never laughed that hard in my life. Guess I just didn't see it coming at all. ;D

Agreed, they finally seemed to get him working as a character. I found the first Hulk especially, hard to connect with as a character.

All hail the Kings of Nerdom!
