Synthetic Weed
-
I don't know how popular it is in other states and places, but if you know anyone who has been trying it or using it, I ask you warn them of the hazards. My Best friend passed away from it 2 months ago and do not want to see anyone else go through this…

The science behind it is that the synthetic stuff is similiar or copies the working chemicals in the leaves, but without the mixture of other substances that comes with the natural stuff it has a much higher potency and risk for failure (OD, often leading to fatalities).
Due to the lack of inhibitors that the plant naturally produces, making natural pot quite "safe" to use, the synthetic stuff has a huge number of unknown side-effects and is far too powerful for most people to handle. So basically; if you value your life: stick with the natural version. The synthetic is there to make money for the manufacturers without care for customers. Yes, its likely cheap and far more potent, but as with all other "too good to be true" things, this one also is. -
Norway is to pot, what Denmark is to Alchohol. Nod nod

EDIT: C'mon. Language.
EDIT II: Joder! Muy estupido putas fumar mota a la cago! caramba! Es mal y tu mal!!!

Why would anyone ever want to manufacture and sell this kind of crap when people can grow the real, natural stuff for free?
Oh, wait.

A) It supposedly is a lot more powerful then natural weed
B) For a while it was legal where I live -

Because in a lot of places, cops would rather focus on issues like "weed growing" than actual, harmful, dangerous things like.. you know.. crime.
Por ejemplo~, four months ago there was a 68 year old man in my home town that had his house raided by cops. Why? He bought several heat lamps and some gardening equipment deemed "weed-growth-like" at the local Wal-Mart. So what does our police force do? They go to his house, kick his door in (he was deaf, didn't hear them banging on the door), and raid his house. What was he doing? Growing tomatoes.
A day later, two people were murdered over a meth deal gone bad.

Yeah, but busting methamphetamine distributors is, like… you know... a lot harder, man. Cut them some slack, jack. That old dude was clearly a ringleader.

Sell is the word.
I was in prison for importing twenty kilo's of high grade marijuana into England from the Caribbean. The crap mentioned in the OP doesn't have the same effects as the real McCoy and it's only advantage is that you can smoke it and pass a urine test on demand (hardly suprising as it contains no THC.)
If you're gonna smoke it's best to know what you're smoking, and with this manafactured rubbish you don't.
All weed requires is a bit of soil, a bit of sun and a bit of water, this other shit requires a laboratory.
Nuff said.

Sorry for the off-topic from the subject of drugs, but the fundamental idea this claim is based on, namely that things fabricated in a laboratory are somehow less understood than those grown naturally bugs me.
To give an example: potatoes require a bit of soil, a bit of sun and a bit of water. Can you tell me the main chemical components of any given potato?
Aspirin is made in a laboratory. Off the top of my head, I can tell you most of any pil lyou hand me it is going to be glucose and acetylsalicylic acid. So, no. Not 'nuff said'.
-
Saying it's 'acetylsalicylic acid' describes its working mechanism as poorly as saying 'aspirin'. Or saying 'a pill'. We use it because we trust some scientists it will do us good, or at least less harm then good.
My problem with the whole comment ended with "nuff said" is that it describes a drug as something safe (and yes, the reason being it's natural seems plain silly to me, but it's a trend these days).
Hells, it is not! Right, it isn't as dangerous as hard drugs, but still there is a good reason for it being illegal in many countries of the word! (and I feel safer to live in such a country, btw)As with medcines, people should take the opinion of scientist seriously and not the opinion of, well, drug dealers.

Actually, as a chemist I put my support behind Fireblood here. (simple explanation below)
There is nothing different between the working chemical in the plant and the one produced in the lab. They can easily copy the same chemical that exists in the plant in a lab. This applies to all "synthetic" versions of natural substances. However, as I said in my first post: the weed itself also contains a lot of other chemicals that might interact with the working chemical.
Some of these substances reduce the effect of the working chemical (the one that gives the high), thus giving natural weed fairly moderate effect. The synthetic version is a far more purified version of the working parts, which means that the same dose of working substance from synthetic weed will give a far more powerful effect due to the lack of the other substances in natural weed that would usually reduce the effect. There is also the possiblity of making similiar chemicals to the natrual working substance, that give the same or a similiar effect since it interacts with your body in a similiar way. These might be untraceable with the current analysis methods in use since they have some differences, despite having the same effect.
The increase of potency of these similiar versions is unknown and the medical implications (such as toxicity and required dose) are unknown. The manufacturers manage to produce something with a similiar effect and are satisfied so they sell it. What they don't know (and don't care about) is the potential other effects this drug might have due to having some differences in its composition.
So for to make it simple:
Substance A1 is found in a natrual plant and is accompanied by substance B and C. These three interact inside the body in such a way that smoking this plant gives a low-risk, moderate effect.Chemists manage to synthesize substance A1 and sell it to the market. There is no trace of B and C now, so the effect is far more powerful. Users use the same amounts as before (since "Hey, its the same stuff!"). Many users OD due to the unexpected increase in power.
Sale of substance A1 becomes banned. Chemists then synthesize substance A2. They are very similiar, but not the same, thus A2 is legal to sell for the time being.
A2 also come without B and C, and is nearly equal in potency to pure A1. However, A2 also work on some other things that A1 did not. This was unforeseen and lead to several sudden complications in users of this new drug (for instance cardiac arrest or kidney failure). This is the real danger of synthetic production of weed. The unknown side effects or the lack of the full natural mixture. Meth, Heroin and many other drugs are allready produced in a lab. Its not the "synthetic" nature of the drug that makes it dangerous, its the effects they have.
Bottom line is still: don't use synthetic weed, but for the medical reasons. All synthetic is not bad.

I'm saying you're better served, if you're going to smoke weed, to smoke the natural stuff than something knocked up in a lab' to mimic (which it doesn't) the natural stuff.
I've smoked the real gear for some 30 years as a personal choice and I've tried some of these synthesised weeds out of interest.
I mantain that it's far safer and more enjoyable to smoke the natural stuff if you choose to smoke cannabis at all.

All these chemicals and shit in effect makes this crap an actual drug. I wouldn't even blow a shotgun of that.
