Diffrence between a good con and a good fortude save
-
I'm curoise went everyone views is on the best way to roleplay having a good fortude save, team up with a bad con score, or simlarly have a poor dex, but great reflex save? :D
-
What..?
-
Poor dex + high reflex = twitchy rather than graceful
Not sure how I'd try and portray the other one.
-
Slow but graceful?
-
Out of shape but hearty? Maybe an old hermit in his hundreds, waddles along bruising and bleeding easily but still snatches flies midair and hasnt been sick in decades.
-
Good Fort ; Low Con?
That creepy old guy that insists on eating cereal with snake venom instead of milk every morning. Kind of leaves him a bit Anemic :P
Good Reflex: Low Dex?
Steve Erwin.(too soon?)

Well I can actually relate to this because I'm quite clumsy. I seem to have bad balance as well because even when I was talking to a friend, standing still, I find myself trying to regain balance. However, as one of my friends mentioned to me, whenever we cross a river my ability to quickly step from one rock to another without getting wet is impressive. That, and being a good street dancer, which seems silly due to my clumsiness.
So you could have a clumsy character who seems to be able to quickly dodge traps. Or something like that

The saves are only influenced by the attributes, the stats Dexterity and Constitution don't define the saves. For example, take into consideration that you can take feats such as "Lightning Reflexes", suggesting that your character has taken the time to train his reflexes, which is completely valid in a role play scenario. Just like with any other skills. You can have a low Charisma but that doesn't necessarily mean that they cannot have a decent Persuade or Taunt skill, as there are feats you can take for those as well.

And a high wisdom character would use the bridge.
-
OH if only life had a character sheet, then I'd know whats wrong with me.

I dont know why, but this make me laugh very hard. I am just imagining someone standing there having a normal conversation while the other person is tipping side to side, arms out, nodding his head along as if he is following the conversation, but trying to hard to stay upright.

You can portray low con good fort as simply being fat or a couch potatoe. Not neccesarily fit or in shape, but it makes you wonder how those people even find the energy to get up out of bed and go to work everyday.
On that note, low con could also mean having low energy. You're not neccesarily unhealthy, you just don't have that high of a stamina.
Edit: An example could be like, the person who eats super spicy beans and drinks wine everyday without getting sick, then throw up just by looking at rollercoasters could be portrayed as high and low Fort and Con.
Second Edit: The guy with low/high Dex and Reflex, I've always invisioned the clumsy guy who goes to a bar, gets into a barfight and while he's trying to run away/avoid getting hurt somehow knocks everyone else out.

Very simple:
low attribute but a high save means you are skilled or just naturally gifted in one area.
For instance, you have a low con - cant take pain, cant run for a long time, low hps, etc, but for osme reason you just dont get sick (Maybe you took Disease resist)or you're a fumblefingers, but highly trained.
-
Con= Basically how healthy someone is, such as oh let's say a warrior in his pride would have high con.
Fort= Fort is more about the inners of your body you may be built like a brick s&^& house but if you get a little cold your out, Or how much Ale you can drink= Why Dwarf have improved saves vs poison (built up a slight immunity to it growing up)
Reflex vs Dex
Dex that measures more or less how good in his at hand to eye coordination, balancing on a tight rope, picking safes and dodging attacks
Reflex, is i call natural reaction you almost can't control like if someone goes to punch you in the face you'll close your eyes, or pull your hand away when you put it on something hot like a toaster or a stove that cooling.
-
im fairly sure you can't get high reflex or fort without having good dex or con.
But then again i suppose it depends on what you consider "good"
My fighter his 4 will save which is rubbish for a cleric but ok for a fighter.
So i suppose if you take feats to increase a save you would roleplay having those skills for learning rather than having a high stat which just makes you good at it with no training. -
And then there paladin/blackguard cha bonus to saving throws…
