Just an opinion

DISCLAIMER: this is in no way an attack to anyone, nor a whine.
I have had at least two people in the pvp of this evening run away from me after I drank a potion of true strike. Standing in melee with me, while I was doing any kind of thing (drinking other potions included), and then as soon as they see the true strike animation they gtfo asap.
That's an exploit, don't do it.
-
I'm on your team and I'm not sure I see how it's an exploit.
-
Its clearly an exploit to PvP the Slime Cult without Zrukk.
-
I fail to see how this is an exploit.
Probly best to ask a DM tho. -
OOC when you see the true strike animation, the other player runs. Metagaming the animation in other words.
-
Not an exploit, imo. As far as I am aware, CoA is WYSIWYG; Therefore, True Strike is identifiable.
I might be wrong.

You're not, obvious animations are obvious animations. We could discuss if the animation needs to be changed though.

Doesn't true strike last until your next attack roll like it was originally created to do, or has it been changed in NWN?

thought it was 9 seconds

1 round.
-
Its not metagaming for all intents and purposes in my opinion.
Reacting to another players AB as in character knowledge would be.

Uh?
/forum/viewtopic.php?t=95 ... ght=potion
C) is pretty clearly exploitive too. There is no way to know what someone just drank in a potion without metagaming.
So don't do A) and C).
PS Just to make it clear, I don't mind wheter it is an exploit or not (even though I can assure you pvp will become a mess if everyone runs back and forth every time a ts potion is drunk). I will act accordingly to what the DMs or players will decide. As long as we all abide by the same rules.

There's no way of knowing…that is of course unless he drinks it infront of you and you see the swirling lights or whatever suround that character. If this is such a big issue though, I don't see the harm in making it last until your next attack and not for a period of time, if that's even possible to script. I can see the issue of say Drinks potion, waits 24 hours, potion is still in effect being an exploit though.
Perhaps it would be a good idea to make this potion last a few extra rounds or something? Sounds like an easy fix to me.
-
Just get rid of the animation.
-
Or…
Those who wish to use True Strike in PvP could work on the tactics they employ to counter the animation.
You're Marines now. You adapt. You overcome. You improvise
-
I'm a true strike irl
-
@21:
I'm a true strike out irl
Tru dat.
-
If I see you chug it gives me every right to run. It could mean the life and death of your character. Use invis and chug it, there's ways of gettng around people noticing.
-
Only invis. And everyone will use a potion of see invisibility. There are no other ways.
The facts are simple, give people the right to notice what potion one drinks, and everything about true strike becomes a mess. But that is my opinion. I will go with what is decided.
