Stonelands
-
The expeditions to the Stonelands are likely the most IC quest ever for my current character, yet getting people to go with me on it is nearly impossible. Why is it so few people are willing to do this expedition? Is it a lack of reward? Lack of excitement? Lack of give-a-damn? Would more people go if it were a higher level range (currently it's 1-5).

at that low of a level i usually find that if i want to do a scripted quest, there's plenty within the city, and that ones so far.
However, i did try a few times on rashim to get some groups together, to no success.
stonelands are fun, but they're kinda out of the way.

one of the few low quests that hasnt been updated, the xp and reward dont match
though it has a been a few months since i have done it

I think its just out of the way. I remember it used to be done a lot when it was in Arabel proper. Its a shame but it would surely see better trafic if it was closer to the city, but that goes for all the out-of-the-way lowbie (1-5ish) quests.

absolutely love that quest, if im ever on and i see a sending for it i go instantly, well if i am low enough level for it.
-
step 1 do the quest
step 2 grab the ears
step 3 find a PD
step 4 make cold hard cash

The extra quest there is awesome, one of my faves. I like it mainly because, there are certain conditions that your party might just not be able to defeat it, and end up in a stale mate (or dead, though that would be because you didn't run when you figured you were screwed) I'd do this quest if I was the right level. I think its the fact it is far from the city that puts people off.
Also, getting to flynn right now can be troublesome due to certain spawns.

I would imagine that theres loot problem for some people. Me, I love that quest. The exp is nice and the RP is better most of the time because its not a quest that is done daily. But it is out of the way and you really dont get to much note worthy from it other than some gold.

true dat to the death spawns.

i actually wish there were more kind of freeform open ended bounty quests like this one and the EO quest for demon parts
-
Theres a bounty system now. Why not just go out and hunt for some bountys with a group? Bring a good buffer or bard with healing and you wont have to spend a coin on supplys. Then it's pure profit.
-
i do that sometimes too ;)
but honestly the spawns are too random for me to do that regularly spending two hours to kill 11 orcs isnt as entertaining as having a more focused quest based on it, well at least for me, plus i kinda like the xp that I get for doing the scripted bounties.

the road to Flynn simply doesn't worth the risk.
I usually do goblin hunt alone, I only take a group there if I want to do the extra quest. Which is very risky…
also there seem to be a place with decent reward (I've found a couple of high level scrolls there) but I suspect it to reload only once per reset.

Stonelands and its companion quest is one of my favourites, I pretty much always take the chance to do it when I can. As for the road being dangerous, I've gone down the road to Flynn without encountering anything more times then I have finding monsters, and even if I do its not too hard to find people in the city willing to help kill them for you.
-
When I last gathered people to kill spawns on the road we cleared the whole map and after saying goodbye to each other I've turned north. In 1,5 screen distance, on the exact place we've killed them there were about 10 enemies again.

Well, my attempts to help her, for one, have been systematically thwarted by my own mistakes, although I would like to provide some help. I'm sorry about that.

Out of curiousity, why is there a level limit on this quest? The reward is low enough that I'd not think it a place people would just "camp" to earn bounty, and unless it's changed since I've done it, aren't the spawn frequency as random as it would be, for say, wandering about the wilds elsewhere?
For that matter, I don't know why any of the outdoor quests have "quest areas" which aren't just accessible at all times. Take the Red Springs area, for instance. Why is this area not just always accessible, but the spawns are only triggered by someone taking the quest. Is this to prevent people from being ambushed by spawns on the random chance that someone takes the quest while they're in the area?
-
To me, it's having to go all the way to Flynn to get the quest. I'd go anyway, but I think ease of access was something that toned down the amount of people doing it.
It's a low level quest and people at those levels prefer not to leave the city as much, I've noticed.

Well, you can't blame them. Leave the city alone and there's a good chance you'll be dead, with the only options of respawning in the city without your gear and hope someone stumbles across your stuff and is kind enough to help, or respawning at your corpse indefinitely until whatever killed you originally has knocked you down to level 1.

Pretty much what I was pointing at, yeah.
I'd presume if the quest was moved a little closer to the city, it would see more players.
