How to Crop an Avatar?
-
Any idea how one does this? The avatar I wanted to use is 100 x 80 pixels and the limit is 80 x 80.
Is it possible to lop 20 off and if so how?
Thanks.

most image manipulation programs can do this -amongst other wonders.
I tend to use more complex solutions -like GIMP- so I suggest you trying what others come up with. However, if you have MS office, you can try MS office picture manager, it offers a simple and well functioning way to crop your pictures.
Alternatively, you can try to make a new picture in paint with 80x80 resolution, and copy past your image in, but it might cause loosing something else then you'd like to. (rotating the picture before might help this if you want to cut the edges off, but if you need its middle part, you might need a better software, or play with paint's user interface a bit more… )

Mr.Moloch has a pretty sweet animated avatar, you can ask him for tips.

…I actually thought something was wrong with my eyes when I saw that image flickering.

You saw it too!? I thought I was going crazy. I stared at it for 10 minutes straight waiting for it to happen again

The above comments made me lmao! All I could see was a perfectly normal walking skeleton. I didn't like it though.

For something as simple as cutting off a few pixels, Paint should really suffice. O_o in the bottom right corner, or somewhere around there, it'll show the position of your mouse on your picture expressed in a " (width, height) " format, which is a great help ^^
