Create Undead and Create Greater Undead
-
I tried finding any post or topic explaining the current working (and changes) in the summoning system. I have figure out the basics of summoning, and I think I got a grasp on how Animate Dead works (as to, whome you animate, time they are "alive" and numbers) but I never heard anything about the two spells in the topic.
They are both much higher level spells, than any of us could ever dream to reach on their own, however it is possible to obtain the (expensive) scrolls. Do these spells work like Animate Dead, only instead of Zombie/Skeleton servants they create a more complex type of undead? I would prefer to know before I go all haywire and decide to invest into anything <.<

They work the same way they do in the regular game, nothing is changed.

For the most part people will only be able to use the scrolls, so the first undead monster will be the default summon because of low character level.
Yet summoning a Vampire for 24 hours is not anything to laugh at.

I belive there is a reagent and or summoning theme for undead in game.
-
there is, look really hard and you'll find how to summon undead. I did and I suck at this game.

"A vampire has damage reduction 15/+1, cold and electrical damage resistance of 20/-, and regeneration of 5. This creature also has the usual undead immunities to critical hits, death magic, disease, level drain, ability drain, mind-affecting spells, paralysis, poison, and sneak attacks."
No kidding. :P

I think a level 15 guy -easily- can destroy the vampire. Besides, no player on CoA will ever reach level 15 unless some DM gone a XP-giving rampage an instant and you happen to be lucky enough to be present.
Or unlucky…

Vampires spawn on at least one quest, and a few areas around and are killed semi-regularly by existing PCs, so yeah.

The vampire from Create Greater Undead is ~alot~ stronger than the standard one from the module.

Yes, I am almost certain they do not have 96 hp and 5 regen. I would remember the insanity while killing them.

I know…cuz I like...summoned one...or three...
