98th Grey Cup
-
Well, its that time of year again. This year is the 98th Grey Cup, to be played in Commonwealth Stadium in the city of Edmonton. The temperture should be somewhere around the
-5c mark, dropping to around -7 or 8 by the end of the game, a far cry better from the -20c that players were forced to cope with in the Western Semi Finals. The game begins at
6:00 PM ET.This years game promises to be a hard fought match. The Saskatchewan Roughriders will once again face the Montreal Allouettes, the same matchup that we had last year.
Some of you may remember that game. Both teams played extremely well, with the game coming down to the very last second. Montreal was down by two points, with Damon
Duval kicking a field goal from 41 yards out with 0 seconds left on the clock. Sasketchewan fans went wild when the kick missed wide. However, ecstasy turned to dismay when
they noticed the red flags on the field; Saskatchewan was called for Too Many Men of the Field. The ball was marched ahead ten yards, and this time Damon Duval made good
on his kick, pushing the Als ahead by 3 to take the game 28-27.This years Grey Cup is a chance for redemption for the Roughriders, lead by quarterback Darian Durant, who no doubt had to live with the same of the infamous '13th man' loss
all season. For the Allouettes and their tried and true pivot Anthony Calvillo, its once more chance to prove they are the class of the league as they have been for some time now. This Sundays game should prove to be something great to see for football fans both in Canada and south of the border. Montreal Alouettes vs Saskatchewan Roughriders
Montreal 21, Saskatchewan 18
Alouettes won! -
I'm pleased with the results, I had money riding on the Als.
I'm really glad to see people getting more and more creative with their responses to my annual Grey Cup thread, I haven't heard anything like the ones posted this year
-
Damn, hope the Broncos win this cup, they've been without a title for years. :(
As long as the Patriots don't win, I'll be happy.

Its Can-aid-ia. Get it? Full of trees and hockeyplayers. And french. No wonder nobody's heard of it.
They have football there too? Is it like proper football or some lame rugby ripoff like that american crap? Superbowl is entertaining enough to watch tho. Lots of fat men on steroids knocking their skulls together. Great fun. If watched with a laid back sarcastic outlook. -
I thought USA was the only country in America….guess I was wrong

Why'd Saskatchewan name their team after a condom?
If it's to get back at the US for naming NHL teams things like The Sharks and Mighty Ducks, I totally understand.
If they're named after Teddy Roosevelt's Rough Riders then I'm even more confused.
