NWN doesn't work with Windows 7?
-
At least that's what my computer informed me of after I spent the better part of three hours loading all of its components onto my computer and patching it to completion.
Is there anything I can do outside of an OS emulator of sorts?
-
it lies!
I managed to run it on win7.
-
What exactly did it say? We can't help you without that.
-
I run on Windows 7!
Use Compatibility mode "XP SP3" and tick "Run as Administrator"
-
Mine runs fine without any problems or additions and its just win7 32bit. Cracked version though >.>

I run windows 7 32 bit and NWN works fine on it. Didn't need to change a thing.
-
64 bit right click to properties and enable xp service pack 3 with full admin access and it works like a charm
-
Eraminuminum (ok, Eraamion-one time only!) helped me back door it without any hacks, though I had to turn off some of the high end settings. I don't remember what I did, but you can find him easily enough on irc. It might have been what falonthas said, actually.

Don't forget to update your graphics card before-hand too. Unless you like 1 fps.

Getting back to the windows 7 issues people might generally have.
Was running Vista on my laptop and everything worked fine with NWN. Had to update to win7 due to work-related reasons.
Now, I get terrible FPS, and the game goes reaaaaaaaaaaaaaal slow in everything (moving around with my char, loading areas, etc.). This happens even if I lower all video settings to minimum. Is that common? Is win7 really that "heavier" than Vista?
Well, this was one thing, and the second is that I haven't walked with my char much around the city, but the East Arabel area shows up fine, but the Tired Traveler Inn looks like this:
Any idea what is again wrong?
-
Roll back your video drivers if you can.
-
works just fine now!
thanx a lot!
-
I run a copy on my notebook and it is win7. All I did was copy the folder over from my XP machine and hit the update program and it worked fine.

same for me. and before i formated my laptop i had Vista and it ran fine there too.
probably not 7 or vista the problem but your hardware.

The key problems I have had in getting NWN to run on Windows 7 have been Graphics Driver based.
I still crash on occasions if I change resolution or switch between windowed and full screen mode.
