Hello everyone,
This is an open call for help.
Ever since the maintenance/server shutdown was done on Tuesday, I have been unable to see the server online.
I can no longer ping the IP 74.63.41.14:5121
I can no longer direct connect to arabel.ender.com:5121I'm hoping that someone will come up with a genius way to fix this.
I have tried resetting my internet modem but that didn't do anything.
I have tried clearing the DNS cache
I have done dhcp release/renewsHas anyone ever had this ? If so, how did you fix it ?
Thanks

No idea on what the trouble is. Try calling your ISP? Doubt they will be much help though, most of them a brainless.
-
I reset my router and it worked.
-
Ok so apparently, my case is special.
I reset my router - didnt work
I reset my router and my modem - didnt work
I plugged my modem directly into my PC to rule out my router - Didnt workI still cannt see the server, ping the server or direct connect to the server.
This is both frustrating and depressing.
Any ideas?

This is happening to a bunch of people. We need to pool our knowledge powa and solve this mess!

I think I had this problem once before. I think it was actually my computer stopped liking the port and locked it up so I couldnt get to it. Something like that anyways. I had a friend of mine fix it so Im not to sure what was going on. Ill report back in a few hours with a better look through this.

Tried on my laptop - No success
Tried formatting my PC - No successCalled my ISP - No success
THe ISP could ping the server without any problems and doesnt understand why I cannotIs it at all possible that it is server related?

Alright im still not seeing it. Ive had my friend help me out and he told me that Voxel has some sort of fire wall or block. You can connect to Voxel itself but once you get to the actuall server that is arabel it is blocked by something. What it is I do not know. How others are connect I do not know. Thats all I have to report. Either way. My problem connecting to the server is not my computer or network its the servers.
-
This may not be helpful at all. But I had some trouble connecting to Arabel a few years back. Someone suggested I connect to the server through xfire, it took a few tries but eventually worked, maybe you could give it a whirl?
-
At the risk of looking like a noob, what's xfire?
-
Xfire is like a IG chat thingy. It can come up in game and you can chat with people through it while still playing. Right? How would you connect through xfire?
-
No idea.
-
-
But if I can't ping the server/IP, how will I connect to it ?
-
The pinging problem sounds like it could well be a gamespy problem, xfire doesn't connect through gamespy so it's possible you could connect through it.
-
I used to host private games and people could never find my server. I had them add me to their buddy list on Gamespy, and they could then connect by clicking on my name.
-
FirstRedbanner: I even tried formatting my computer so I'm not sure its a gamespy issue, but ill still try the xfire thing when i get the chance.
Harry: I tried that with Yardsale. Added him on my buddy list and I couldnt see him online and he couldn't see me online.
From the tracerts that we did, it's like I get routed to an unknown area and time out eventually.
