Roleplay Opportunities

As you know, I am engaged in a lot of plots. Plots that I want to involve as many people as possible. Here are some ideas for characters that will 100% give you plenty of interaction, politics and even fighting.
Militant Tymoran Cleric Requires App
Once upon a time, the Arabel City Militia was the Tymoran Militia. There are still many Tymorans in the City Militia, and many are looking to the "good ol days" when they were under Luckwardens and the Lady Luck. Intrigue against the Sheriffs, gain a charter from the Court! Fight with the Red Hart for military command! Attack the Zhentarim!Thunderholme Dwarf
The dwarves of Thunderholme are a weary weary race. With over half their numbers gone, things are not looking too good back home. Its time to go to Arabel and earn some money to remit back to the wife.Thunderholme Ambassador Requires App
The Free State is the neighbour to the Halls of Arabel, and are a damn sight better than the damn bloody thieving conniving Sembian scum! They helped us survive that damn worm-thingies, and then they helped put our king on the Throne. We better send an Ambassador to Arabel, someone has to keep watch on these damn Zhents anyway, stupid Arabellians.Slums Rattler Requires App
So I grew up a thief, now I'm a guard, guarding my own little piece of the pie, and making sure no one does something silly right in front of me. The Broken Bottle is still a hellhole, and there are lizards everywhere, but this is my home. I hope Fharz has a better plan that just survival. Ah, a rat. Dinner.Ilmateri official clergy requires App
Things are not improving in the slums. Alot of people have gone over to the godless Custodians. We are short of money, short of funds, and no one seems to care. We need help to bring about some change in the Old Quarter. We need to build support for bringing in jobs, putting food on the table. Lets see about those adventurers. Someone must be willing to help. -
Amusing to see one point-of-view's history.

Here's my own wishlist of plants and agents:
- A grunt in the Rattlers
- A wand/potion crafter who follows Ilmater and sells cheap
- A smith
- A sneaky halfling ranger
-
@H:
- A wand/potion crafter who follows Ilmater and sells cheap
Cheap; as in "with loss" or just as in acceptable prices like all others are doing now?
-
With the Ilmaterii Priest, you could just ask for donations. If, with the donation and your own gold, you have enough gold, you create the wand/potion, if not, you appologise and hand back their donation.
Sometimes people will be generous, other times, they'll flease you, but you'll be consistent and caring, providing your deity's healing to the needy.
This would be a tough way to play, and you'll always be poor, but, hey, shouldn't an Ilmaterii be poor, anyway?
-
To me that sounds like you'll play a vending machine for the benefit of others and at the expense of your own fun. But we're going off topic here.

It depends how you interact with folks. You may find that, given the Ilmaterii links with the Rattlers and other old quarter, some characters work along side you to "encourage" reasonable donations. You, as the Ilmaterii might be blind to this, or, given your nature, totally innocent of any suspicions. Anyway, you're not giving these wands away free for the benefit of others, you are, in requiring a donation, redeeming your soul from some nefarious action you committed as a young renegade. Did you murder an ilmaterii priest, and is this your way of atonement? Anyway, folks can only get so many wands from you before the "vending machine" runs out of coin and they have to donate at cost at least.
It does not need to be at the expense of your own fun. You might find fun in playing a challenge. Those who are more material, might reject this idea. Those who fancy playing something difficult, might relish the challenge. Horses for courses and different variants on character ideas make CoA a fun place to be.

I used to buy 50 healing kits +1, and sell them at the market at 15gp each. I would sell all fifty in two days, and earn 150gp

That was what I was trying to imply.

So you either bought 50 healing kits +1 for 12gp each and sold them for a higher prize
or you need to visit math class. -
Obviously the 150gp was the net gain. Flaming is bad, don't do it.

3gp * 50 kits = 150gp.
Quod erat demonstrandum.
Anywho, thanks, Krod, for providing a lot of cool ideas. As soon as I can get another copy of NWN I'll try one o' these.
