Fresh Evil
-
Myself and a few player colleagues are presently negotiating the task of thrashing out a concept. With us settled on an evil persuasion I was curious to know what the server base as a community were eager to see more of? Personally I’d like to bring a fresh evil that hasn’t been sampled for a long while if at all.
I’m aware that Velsharoon and Sharran contingents have been played out, there is currently a strong Banite presence with Cyricist undertones, there has been three terrorising druids in recent memory, a host of professional thieves and assassins, lycanthropes – the list is endless.
It may well be an impossible task given the depth of history this server has, but is there anything out there that people think would be a fresh evil opposition to confront and engage?
Interested to read your thoughts.

Nothing that hasn't been done before to some degree, unfortunately. Best to just find one of the less done paths, and find an interesting angle on it. Nothing in particular comes to mind though. Can't wait to see what you come up with. :)

Eb0l helmitez

[He coughs] Ahem…

You could play some kind of evil Helmite sheriffs maybe? Our ones atm are pretty gay
-
evil helmite has been done a billion times. We need more average helmites

Well-played, motivated, and multi-dimensional good-aligned characters. :?

Well-played, motivated, and multi-dimensional evil-aligned characters are spectacular too.
If there's a group of you, I have never seen a noble house of high class thieves and smugglers before. I'm talking like, mobster-like stuff. The Godfather FTW. I think one of the noble houses you used to be able to app for MAY have been kind of like that, but I can't be sure as I wasn't around that much back then. Still, it's a type of thing I havn't seen much of; most of the thieves and smugglers I've come across are either freelance or make up a small gang. Never a NOBLE HOUSE of a prestigious family made up of smokers with wheezy voices who enjoy their spaghetti and wine and the occasional beating of someone who's about to sleep with the fishes.
If this sounds like something you'd like to do though I'd mull it over with the DMs, I'm pretty sure if you add your own INTRIGUEing spin on it, they'd be up for it. But then again, I'm not a DM.

Ever thought of having no real purpose? Nothing your characters are really looking for? All they want is doom and destruction? All you want to do is cause chaos, you have nothing to gain from it what so ever. Your character are just insane really. Mabey they want to collect ALOT of alch fire and put them all in barrels then sneak underneath the mages guild with them all. Plant them. Set them on fire and watch the tower fall to the ground for nothing but the fun of it. I tried that once but it didnt go anywhere. If you do that I would make a hole new character just to help!

Hey there,
With regards tp new evil here are a couple of ideas: -
-
Play a faction that is trying to resurect Bhaal (the old god of murder) as the god no longer exists it would be really pretty fresh to try and bring him back.
-
Play a Garagos faction that is trying to bring the church of Garagos back to its original form. The old god of Garagos was a reasonably respectable god of war, then later Garagos went from being a fairly rational and controlled tactician to being a blood soaked frenzied killer.
-
Talos (Ok me and draco are doing this) Not so many plots with Talos a really powerful evil god in the past, people tend to go for mainly velsharoon, Bane, malar or mask
-
Pick a little heard minor evil god, really read the background and run with it.
hope his helps
Daywalker

I heard those Black Legion dudes are pretty evil and cool.
@Down: Like, huh, that Dante guy?

Making any kind of evil (or good, in the reverse case) character with a built in mental/emotional/physical weakness. It might sound simple, but a lot of people seem to settle into this "I'm unstoppable" mentality, even if they meant to have a built-in weakness from the beginning. I can't tell you how tired I am of this mediocre "badass" macho impotence taking the place of a carefully-crafted villain. In my opinion the best villains are the one's who have an articulate chip on their shoulder, one's who can be extremely dangerous and cripplingly harmless at the appropriate moments.
That said, you might want to look into Hoar. The right kind of evil Hoarran could make a big splash in the current server environment. The inner-conflict between following the law and getting retribution at all costs can be very interesting.

do what you'll have fun doing and wont bag out on

This server always needs more evil to balance the overwhelming amount of good things happening IMO.

Um. What?
-
I guess I'll throw in my two cents.
The server always has an abundance of "I'm going to eat your babies because I'm evil" sort of villians. I'd like to see a well played villian who thinks he's doing the right thing, those are typically my favorite villians.

Human for extra feat and ability point, maybe fighter so you can be pretty powerful if you potion fish. Nobody can use Protection From Alignment against you if you're neutral, so do that; just be emotionally gritty or whatever.

It's kind of like Bhaliir, really.

Make a bunch of dudes with diabolical super villain nick-names (not real names..) who plan to take over the world!
You can all have different coloured capes, and one of you should have at least one sorcerer level or something, so they can shoot their RAY OF DESTRUCTON! from their fingertips.
Yeah.
