Baldur's Gate II GUI
-
So, for anyone who's interested, i'm working on a Baldur's Gate 2 themed GUI for NWN
I rather like it.
EDIT:

Would be amazing. I loved BG2 UI. Be sure and post it here as soon as it is done. :D
-
Please post this. I love it so far.

How much of processing power are such things using?

I never managed to get that one to work for me, for some reason :(

Not much more than usual, I imagine, if at all. The images the game is loading up are a bit more packed so perhaps that would make some difference, but nothing I noticed running around.

The BG II UI had that true DnD feel to them, they just felt so real compared to the polished NWN ones. I love it!

You had to use nwhak.exe (in nwn/utils) to take the files out of the hak format for general use. It was still pretty incomplete even after that. (I had a pretty heavily modded full GUI with fantasy comapsses and everything, but lost it in the a forced reformat from a virus a year or two back)
-
Most of it's done now(!) though as you can see from the second picture, there are a few hiccups left in the system >_>
With any luck, i'll be finished with it later today!

Pretty cool. I use to use that old one BR was talking about(I believe) but it wasn’t implemented very well, ingame text was not centred on the boxes. NWN is so old that anything that’s different is good at this stage.

Holy shit, that looks awesome!

I take this back :( I just discovered NWNExplorer and how to extract other textures, and am currently hunting for the inexplicably missing ones as well as some others that weren't a part of the PotM GUI. Plus after what Bongo said, I think i'd like to make this as complete a change as I can.
-
It's not quite so complete as I was after, but I think i've ironed out the hitches with what I have changed (which includes main menu screens - but not for the DM client, which doesn't like the new images - examine screen, character creation screens, server login screen. . . pretty much everything that isn't running while you're playing in the realtime environment)
Download Link - there's a little "Save file to your PC" text near the bottom, click that and not whatever silly advertisment is up this time)
To install just unzip the file into the override folder in your NWN directory. If you previously had another custom GUI installed, I can't promise it being an easy transition and best result i've had is to delete all those files prior to putting these ones in. There might be some Ravenloft: PotM images left in there, but if there are it's really only because without them in there, for some reason, images start to disappear altogether (rather than resorting to vanilla) or only partly load. I don't think it's anything major.
Most likely bug is the images for "feats, skills, character" disappearing that are normally on the tabs for "character sheet" IG (they've not been changed, should be same as usual)
I'll try and fix any bugs that come up, though modding the rest of the game's GUI isn't as straightforward.
Race select screen:
With one of the bugs on show - the little "jump" on the left side of the top bar. Haven't found a way to fix that particular one.Enjoy!

Yoink!
Can't wait to try this out :)

Looks awesome.
Theres also the BG2 spell icons if people want 'em.
-
Quick fix for map pins leaving a square black box behind them: go into your override directory and delete gui_map_pieces.tga.
-
Got this a bit late… but I am so excited! :D
-
I just noticed that apparantly something's not working right here - left image is how it's working for me, right is how it was working for arek332. Anyone else using this had a similiar issue?

This is now hosted on NWVault:

I'll use this once someone tells me how to replace the menu music with this.
