How to work with screenshots.

In the game press the Print-Screen button (top right of your keyboard, next to F12). This will create a file named NWN.tga in your nwn folder.
You'll most likely need a 3rd party program to view TGA images, I suggest IrfanView it's free and easy to use, and also supports conversion.
Next you should convert the image into another format, something like jpg, so that it becomes a managable size. IrfanView can do this as well, it also has some small editting features so you could save only the part of the screen that you find interresting.
Now that you have a jpg file in a managable size you need to host it somewhere, use your own provider or some free hosting service.
Note: most free hosting services, like tripod and angel fire do not support direct linking, this means that your picture will either not show and give the famous red cross in white box picture or the logo of the hosting provider you tried to use.If you do not have access to a place to host the images I suggest ImageShack it only allows you to host images but it is free, easy to use and allows direct linking of the image. Just go to the site, click browse, select your file, and click on "host it". It will even give you the code to use on a phpBB messageboard like this one is. For example:
[ img ]http://img8.imageshack.us/img8/2281/KoboldC.jpg[ /img ]
(normally there would be no spaces inside the [ img ] things)
You can just copy and paste this in your post and it will display the picuture(which I did not do here, since that would just take up space). -
Windows XP has two programs that come in handy.
First, Windows Picture and Fax Viewer is the default program that opens to basically just view pictures when you double click them, and handles TGA files (NWN screenshot filetypes) just fine for scanning through them to find just the one you want, just hit the next button.
Secondly, Paint, which is located on your start menu (Start> All Programs> Acessories> Paint), also opens TGA files. Just open, use the select tool (the dotted box tool) to select the area you want, Copy, open a new file, then paste. Save this new file as a .jpg, and voila, web-compatable screenies!
-[EDIT]-
Upon trying to do this myself, I found I was unable to do so. Seems either the software I installed for either my wacom, or my webcam, installed the neccissary codecs for windows programs to not get retarded for them, and I never realized this, as these things were installed before NWN on this machine previously, and no longer are, since I haven't bothered to reinstall the aforementioned hardware devices since my last fdisk. Seems windows is, in fact, stupid, and I am, in fact wrong. Disregard all the above.HOWEVER, this is basically what Teph wanted you to see, now without spaces!```

Quick note for anyone using MacOS:
You use F13 instead of Print Screen to do the capture. Preview is capable of converting the image format – just double click on the TGA files and then within that program save as jpeg.

To capture a screen image on a Windows pc, you can also use Shift-PrtScrn, which will save the image to your clipboard. When you return to Windows, you can "paste" that image into most Windows applications. Such as the "Paint" accessory that comes standard with Windows - an application which allows you to save in many different image formats, including .jpg.
That way, you don't need any special application to work with the image, just any Windows application that allows you to paste images and save them in the format you desire.

shift is not nesessary, just Print Screen.
I recommend a program called IFRANVIEW for the screenie TGA's from nwn. This program will allow you to crop and resize the image. What I do, personally, is do a cut from a cropped selection in Ifranview, and paste the image into paint, and save to JPG.
This is an extra step, I know, but it's never failed me, and it's faster than doing things through photoshop and other large applications.

Just save the JPG with IrfanView? :-)
IrfanView is perfect for just converting, cropping etc..
I would recommend that for working with screenshots. -

I like a program called Screenshot Captor. Run it in the background, and you can take as many screenschots as you need just hitting PrintScreen. And as a bonus, you can set it so that they'll immediately be saved as .jpeg with dates as filenames etc. stored where you want it to be stored without any further clicking. Most, if not all of the IrfanView editing functionality is included as well. It's Freeware.
