Fairplay loot distribution initiative
-
Hey,
I hereby announce that once loot gets down the ground, I'll pick up outstanding DM rewards until the party discusses who should get it to avoid ninja-pickups that make a large portion of participants leaving disappointed.
I will make myself subject to the method of assigning previously picked up outstanding DM reward, and hand it over. I am willing to give up this opportunity to play my character out with accuracy so an inadequate system (which is NWN inventory management and loot-on-the-ground system) won't ruin the fun of my fellow players.Aron

DMs! Please tell me now if this is against any rules ore expectations!
Thanks -
It is not an OOC rule, it is an IC rule. Enforce it yourself amongst your peers in an IC capacity.
-
This is an OOC issue, Spiffy.
There is nothing to enfoce. NWN is made in a way that grabbing things can't be interrupted, stopped, ect. The engine is not ready for playing out such a conflict. -
Deal with it in character. Making an OOC claim on the forums is as unenforceable.
-
That said, ninja looters are universally twats. If you intend to keep a lion's share of the loot you should inform the DM so he can properly compensate the rest of the party, or give IC indications 'he is carrying a heavy loot bag of recently picked up loot.'
-
Beat the shit out of them tbh thats how i would deal with it
-
WSI doesnt hold threat of death readily enough for getting beat to shit. any serious pvp altercation in wsi requires a DM, and likely involves teleportation to a random part of Toril.
-
I didn't realise this was about the world serpent inn i thought it was just dm loot splitting in general
-
I started distributing loot in the open for this very reason, rather than going back to the Mage guild (Is that still a thing?).
It always bums me out when people ninja steal loot. That is why I loved questing with CB. No one fucked with him during distribution of loot. -
you'd know what I'd like to see about loot distribution? giving others that don't have a DM plot center around them give others a chance at. Take a step back and ask "hey I got a DM or meta plot I am in, or you have all your gear slots filled with DM loot, look take a step back think "do I really need this?"
Why not let characters that aren't totally pimped out chance, My current character has next to squat, yet I KNEW I didn't have a chance at it.
Thats my version of fair loot distribution, letting it flow to others that don't have rather than letting those that have plots center around them hoard it

On this particular event, a player in our group mentioned after the fact he found a cache of potions, wands and other bits and pieces which he left untouched. In retrospect I would think this went unclaimed.
-
Let the loot be distributed ICly. If someone steals it all, just kill them and take it back. None of this OOC crap.
-
Yes. This is an ic issue to be handled ic, or an ooc issue to be reported to dms and addressed as metagaming.

Anyways, locking topic.
