players for dnd5e Adventurer's League online games?
-
Hi folks.
I'm in a pnp wizards.com dnd5e Adventurers' League game with people in person.
The Waterdeep: Dragon Heist campaign is shifted to part 2, The Mad Mage's Dungeon, for our gaming store more or less this month. This campaign will be officially run/sanctioned by Wizards of the coast until September 2019, when a new campaign is expected to start.
Our gaming store and group has lost some players by attrition - life, needing to do other things, maybe changes to the campaign and DNDAL that not everybody liked.
The kicker is, it is an 'official' campaign, so people need to keep logs, track rewards for their characters, etc, and work their way up to the right level to play the campaign.
It is possible this will change, but if not, some of us at this gaming group were considering running other DNDAL sanctioned adventures for players who would like to join in person, that live locally. It is cold in Canada, finding space and time to get together can be a challenge, and matching schedules might also be a challenge at times.
But essentially, if we play DNDAL online, we can possibly bring non-local players to help these new potential players get their characters up to 4th level (at which they can spend 25 free time units to jump to 5th level, the 2nd or next higher tier of difficulty and level of play, the minimum level players have to be to play the DNDAL Waterdeep: Dungeon of the Mad Mage (basically dnd5e undermountain).
SO! Do any players who frequent CoA play Pencil-and-Paper Dungeons and Dragons 5th edition who are interested in playing the dnd Adventurers' League online, to possible help some new players who live in my area get enough experience to join our in person games and help us NOT DED in Dungeon of the Mad Mage?
I might try to get some other characters up to 5th level as well so I have backup characters, since the one I currently have might not be able to cut it for higher level play, etc.
It takes about 12 hours of play to get a new dndal pc from 1st to 4th level, 4 hours per level, 4 xp markers and 4 treasure points per level, 1 xp and 1 treasure point marker per hour of relevant play, etc.
The pnp game i'm currently playing, we play 2 hour time slots (in person) but longer time slots can work if the adventures suit it and the players can spare the time.
So just to be clear, this is making starting characters, playing tier 1, and people who play need to have a wizards play number etc.
this one here is the more relevant one; there should be links to pdf's with some basic player guides to how it is being run, etc.
If folks are new to this and didn't read it, maybe plan to leave some time before a potential online game starts to have the dm or other players explain some of the basics to you (fortunately, you can almost completely remake characters before you hit 5th level and tier 2, with some minor caveats on like bought items, changing factions and losing previous reputation with old factions, etc).

There is a copy of the dnd basic rules, which only includes some of the more core dnd classes, online for free on the wizards site here:

So if you feel like posting to this or messaging me directly on this forum, it would help to know your level of interest/ free time/ experience with dnd5e and or experience with dndAL.
Are you playing to learn and have fun yourself?
Or are you an expert who can tutor new players?Thx in advance guys.
You can also poke me at ma1keru333 in the city of arabel discord. I might not get back to you right away.
