Merchants Buying Too Much
-
Seems much of our gold bloat is from some bugs with merchants.
NPC Merchants should not buy most loot, with the exception of Temon who should buy most things. Most merchants should not be paying more than a handful of coins for things they buy, with again the exception of Temon.
Please use this post to ONLY tell me which Merchant NPCs are not behaving in a way that makes sense so we can fix them.

Inmai Mush
-
Mush was fixed as of 4030.
-
@mr-moloch For reference how much should merchants be paying for items at most? Say potion merchants for potions, or scroll merchants for scrolls, or weapon merchants for weapons etc.
-
No merchant should be paying more than 100 gp, except Temon and other (General Store) kinds of merchants who would max at 250. I'm finding some who are paying 500 gp.
Now that's a "guide" and we do probably have some exceptions to the rule, but that's more or less where things should be.

I found the 500 gold merchant yesterday. I found him because Inmay Mush stopped buying entirely (he was buying at 400) so I tried to find another one, and I did.
I'll poke Arkham like I did yesterday if I see another merchant like that.
The wizard who buys scrolls and some magical items in the spire AND the merchant hall also buy more than Temon, which is 300. Temon is at 250.

Raznor fell into this category last I looked at his store.
-
Orc shop. Kanthea, I think.
I feel both are valid though.

Did you reset all merchants down? Things that were selling for 250gp to pretty much anyone changed to the range of would not buy to 86gp on merchants.

Yes, we're putting most to where they should be. Though, I messed up Temon, he should be buying just about everything and I set him to nothing. Need to fix that.

@mr-moloch Could you clarify please; Is Temon and the other shop in Old Town like his, the only ones who are classed as General Merchants, who should be paying 250?
If so, Doretta may need adding to the list please, she paid 250 for a cloak (or is it intended because she is a general clothing merchant?)
-
@listen4silence Doretta shouldn't even buy things really. She sells clothing, she's not a second hand shop! We've fixed her a few times, not sure how she keeps breaking.
-
The merchant in Old Town should be the same as Temon but he's got lowered to 100 max.
Could this change please? For the scummies of our server? :)
As for Doretta, she's buying at 250, but only clothes. That's not a gamebreaker much.
-
@mr-moloch Cheers for the clarification. She was definatly buying cloaks yesterday.

I can increase that one to 200; but welcome to being 'scummy' you get worse deals. You'll find the same problem at pawn shops! Doretta is actually a gamebreaker, its why we keep fixing her. She should simply not be buying things. Go to Temon, he'll 250.
